Amazing place to get away and enjoy time relaxing. The entire staff is amazing. The excursions are fun and exciting. Buffet - La Hispaniola, has an amazing wait staff. I would like to recognize Aldagisa, she’s is excellent, attentive and very hospitable. Also Willy and Greisy. 👍👍👍.

We stayed from Apr 3-10. We flew Air Canada, from Toronto. Flights were good. We stayed from Apr 3-10. We flew Air Canada, from Toronto. Flights were good. We have been to PC a few times in the past, so we thought it was time to try it again since our last couple of trips to Cuba haven't been that great. Our bus to the resort took forever. Should've booked a private transfer. Oh well we made it eventually. Check in was a breeze. Room was ready on arrival, 3:30-4. Bell boys drove us to our room. Really liked the key fob on the bracelet. What a nice resort. It's a big property with amazing grounds and an incredible natural area. We loved walking through it every day. There are shuttles running all over the resort if you want to catch a ride. We were in building 8, top floor which was a great spot for us. Close to the beach. It was a bit of a hike back up to the main lobby and main buffet, but we were ok with that. I would try a lower floor next time maybe! The room was great. We loved the set up in the bungalow suite. Restocked fridge everyday with beer, water and pop. Our maid was pretty good, our towels weren't switched out enough but that's ok. We asked her when we saw her, and she changed them for us. We brought our own face cloths. They didn't not have any in the room. Everything else was great in the room. Loved the balcony. Beach was good. Wavy all week but fun. We are early risers, so we'd go get our spot at the beach and get breakfast and then head back for the day. We've been to Bavaro beach twice and loved it. That's why we go south, for the beach!! Food was good all week. We tried both buffets and liked them both. We tried the Mexican ala carte. Didn't care for it at all. Food was meh and the service was not good. The steakhouse was good, and service was great. The Indian was our favorite. We went twice. Food was amazing and the service was as well. We tried the food truck once; burger was meh and fries were good. The staff were great. No complaints at all. We tipped of course but were not over the top about it. Beach bar staff were great, the drinks were great as well. Loved seeing them every day. Our buffet fellas in the am at the main buffet were awesome. Lobby staff were great as well. The gym wasn't that good. Bunch of broken equipment and it's not big enough. Need a little more space. Yes, we know we are not at home, and we knew what to expect. It's not the highest priority for the resort. It was a 1 and done for my wife. All in all, a great week for some R and R. We will definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends. Overall my family and I had a great trip but some of the experiences we had at Grand Bavaro were not up to standards. This was our first trip with out 10 month old son. The Princess is extremely family friendly and the staff at the restaurants are amazing ! My family and I had breakfast at the beach buffet every morning and the staff were sooo happy and treated our baby like royalty. I have never seen him so engaged and social with anyone. I am so grateful to those staff and being able to witness my son so happy. The grounds are so gorgeous with birds everywhere. I loved the ecological pathway. The rooms are nice and the pull out couch is a good touch for my family. The food was great and we were lucky to get to try almost all the a la cartes. It’s a nice touch that they let you book as many as you want. The beach was amazing and the pool was great :) Unfortunately where this resort lacks is the room cleaning service and staff at reception. Our room was not cleaned at all one day; and when I thought it was due to the fact that our baby napped there twice a day and we had “do not disturb” we found out from other people at the resort that they without kids were having similar issues. To top it off one day the tip was gone and the room was not clean… also something else we heard from other people which is a little messed up. On the day they finally came to clean our room after missing a day, they made the bed with a wet sheet. To top it off we had a leak from our bathroom ceiling, when we phoned to let front desk know they said ok and hung up. Overnight the leak worsened with our entire bathroom floor being wet and the leak coming from two places in the ceiling. We phoned front desk over 4 times and attended in person. It took them 4 hours to come “immediately”. And when they did address the issue there was no apologies or acknowledging the issue, just agreeing to fix it . I later found out from others that they had similar experiences. Overall nice resort with good amenities and food but some of the services could use some finessing.
