We had such a fantastic stay at Domes Aulus Zante. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, our room was gorgeous and the hotel was beautiful. We put our daughter in kids club for 2 days and the team there were amazing, so patient when our daughter was a bit scared and made it really fun for the kids. There was always a manager available if we needed help and I thought it was great the way there were always guest services staff coming around in the morning to ask guests if there was anything they needed. We got caught up in the UK air systems crashing and had to stay an extra day and the team at the hotel were fantastic at helping us find another room to stay in and making it stress free. The restaurants were fantastic, especially the mezze restaurant, although I find the rota system they were on a bit frustrating and limiting. As a side note, I would say that the pita truck is totally underused and should have been open way more. The interiors of the hotel were really beautiful and nicely designed, as were the restaurants, especially the outdoor seating areas of the restaurants. The outside seating area for the main bar that people go to in the evenings is lovely but way to small for the number of rooms/guests, the inside area is large but no one wanted to sit inside on a lovely summer night. It's a shame that the musical entertainment has to be inside rather than outside but I don't know if that's because of the hotel's location next to a turtle breeding area or just because the outside bar area is so limited in size. The site is beautiful and quite wild rather than manicured, but stunning. And being right be the beach is incredible. The beach was fantastic, and you could go out quite far before it got deep, great for kids! Our room was really lovely, the bed was so comfortable, beautifully designed. We had a suite with a living room space and our daughter slept on the sofa bed which was also really comfortable. The location from the airport was amazing, we never had an issue with noise from airplanes but the short transfer time was a dream. I would say that this is a really fantastic 4* hotel rather than a 5* hotel, there are just a few things that I'd expect from a 5* hotel that weren't on offer. - A nicer pool and larger pool area (although someone said this is because of it's location near a turtle conservation site which means planning has been denied for pool related updates, not sure if that's true) - better poolside food options, most days there was only a very small buffet at the restaurant by the pool and normally I'd expect to be able to order food and drinks to your sun lounger at a 5* star hotel. I'd say that the indoor space where the poolside buffet was served was also a bit basic and tired looking - more food stations with food being cooked fresh or served at the buffet for example omelette stations in the morning or a large joint of meat being carved fresh to order A pet peeve of mine at any hotel like this is letting people come down in the morning and reserve sun loungers in the morning which means if people come to the pool later there's no where to sit. This was particularly problematic here were the pool area wasn't that big. At a lot of the 5* hotel I have been to recently reserving sun loungers in this way for extended periods of time hasn't been allowed and it means that there is a nice natural flow of people coming and going and you never have to worry you won't be able to find a spot. But this might not bother others. None of that should take away from the fact it was a fantastic hotel, we had a brilliant holiday, and we would absolutely come back. We would 100% recommend but if there are some of the extras you expect from a 5* hotel then you might not get them here so worth calling and checking.

We went with two other couples in October the week it was closing. It was a great experience, the staff were excellent, polite and helpful. The food was great, especially the a la carte by the beach. It was that good we got to go twice.. OK the hotel wasn't running at full capacity and we were not displeased in any way. I have read some reviews and to be honest I think they would complain just for the sake of it. All 3 couples are planning to visit the same time next year. The hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the restaurants were adequately staffed, the main restaurant food was a high standard and rarely repeated. Overall it is as good as any 5 star places I have stayed at, and look forward to our return.

Having visited this excellent hotel last May (2023) & having only one complaint which was the main bar & its manager, which were assured by Adrianos had been resolved we have decided to revisit this year on 4th May for 18 nights. We found it really comfortable with good food & staff, well appointed for Laganas & Kalamaki by walking along a long beach. We would recommend the hotel & its excellent staff.

“Not Quite 5 Star”

We are currently staying at this hotel. It could be amazing but it lacks refinement. We are staying in a Sapphire nest room. It is adequate but quite small ( little hanging space and move move in the room with 2 suitcases. and has an adjoining door to next door so you can hear through the door. ... more

We are currently staying at this hotel. It could be amazing but it lacks refinement. We are staying in a Sapphire nest room. It is adequate but quite small ( little hanging space and move move in the room with 2 suitcases. and has an adjoining door to next door so you can hear through the door. Luckily the hotel is not to full so the room next door is empty otherwise it would feel claustrophobic. We have a seaview room which is nice, wouldn’t want a room looking at the hotel blocks and gardens. The bathroom is tiny. I think we were the first of the season in the room and bathroom not as clean as it should have been when we arrived. ( marks on sink and toothpaste marks on the side.) The housekeeping have kept it very clean since. The food in the main restaurant is good but good not warm enough. ( people are all saying this when you speak to them) This is day three and don’t think the meats or meat dishes have ever been warm. The meat and fish have also dry as been left out a while. The selection is good and salads varied but as I have a garlic and onion allergy can only really stick to tomatoes and cucumber 🤪. The staff in the main restaurant are all lovely and work very hard, My allergy has not been catered for well. The Grilia restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. They knew I had a garlic allergy ahead of time and still served me bread with garlic dip as soon as we arrived. My friend ordered roasted veg with roasted peach ( I couldn’t have it due to the garlic) and no sign of peach just chopped apple. For mains we ordered Stonebass fish which was served with stone cold wilted greens. Maybe they were supposed to be cold, not sure, but it ruined the meal. The service was appalling. We were in the restaurant 2 hours and only received a starter and a main. After waiting 25mins with dirty plates and being ignored we gave up waiting for dessert. Two other tables also gave up and walked out. It was not busy, not even half full, The breakfast is excellent, amazing choice, our favourite meal. Have yet to have a decent cup of coffee. Always Luke warm and just had a cold one from the the Meze bar!! Very disappointing. The pool area is nice but no pool service. The lovely lady at the pool bar is run off her feet, and the queue can be a while. The hotel only has 40% capacity at the moment. I dread to think what it is like in the height of the season. There is no food menu at the pool which is very odd for an all inclusive hotel. There are a few snacks in the fridges by the bar. The hotel is very near the airport. You can see and hear the planes landing. Doesn’t bother us as good entertainment. This is the beginning of the season. The gardens are very sparse looking and patchy. Needs replanting . Could be lovely. Looks quite dusty and muddy. The Meze restaurant is not open, neither is the Pita place. The hotel shop is also closed. It is fully stocked with the lights on but they don’t know when it will open. Again, disappointing. We were told nothing about the Spa or activities. No literature about the hotel and its facilities in the rooms. They are missing a trick. We are having a nice holiday but there are a lot of things that need improving to make it special and 5 star.
