Just got back from a really nice stay. So many negative comments so I'm focusing on the positive. Lovely location a brilliant base for exploring. Hotel itself yes it is dated,but it's spotlessly clean. Staff incredible friendly. Food nice yes I've had better, but it was always cooked fresh and hot. Outdoor space was amazing gorgeous pool fantastic view's lovely seating areas , plenty of sunbeds. Rooms were ok plenty big enough for 2, again very clean. I would stay again thankyou grand moon valley

“Great value for money ... and fabulous views!”

We chose the Moon Valley because it's close to Sorrento, Pompeii, Naples and Herculaneum, but much better value than hotels in Sorrento. It has many positive attributes but a few negative ones, however we thought it was great value for money, which is a major point to remember when writing a review. Our rooms were opposite each other at the far end of the hotel, and they were very clean and comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty and plentiful, although the evening meal choices were limited - I don't eat meat but I still enjoyed the meals as fish and vegetables were available. And the ice-cream was really good. The outside area around the swimming pool is outstanding, with plenty of seating and sunbeds, and the views over the Bay of Naples (including Vesuvius of course) and the surrounding hilly countryside are incredible! Most reviews don't seem to mention how fantastic the pool area is, and there's so much room for the size of the hotel that most of the sunbeds are empty - see my photos for evidence ... Hotel staff are (nearly) all lovely - helpful and friendly, and the cleaning staff are excellent. A really enjoyable aspect of the hotel bar is the Italian draught beer (Agricola), which is brilliant. We certainly enjoyed a few of these during our stay! For me the main problem with the hotel is that it's on the main road to and from Sorrento, which is always busy and quite steep with a narrow pavement to and from the railway station. On one occasion I was nearly struck by a vehicle mirror even though I was on the path. Although many reviews mention traffic noise at the hotel, I didn't think it was a problem either inside or outside, although our room location probably helped. One last observation I must make is that the dining room has an unbelievably picturesque view of the Bay of Naples which always made mealtimes a pleasure! And as always, whenever you stay in a hotel, bear in mind how much you've paid ...

“Good base 500 yrds from train station with good connections.”

Nice hotel. Spotless Staff friendly Pool area really nice. Nice gardens Choose room with a sea view Downsides Food stuck in the 70s! Paper thin walls Hilly but it's all hilly around there A lot of road noise.

The good... Lovely & clean hotel, staff were pleasent. The not so good.... Didn't realise hotel was as remote on a busy road, it's not actually in Sorrento it's in Sieano. The bad... The good... Lovely & clean hotel, staff were pleasent. The not so good.... Didn't realise hotel was as remote on a busy road, it's not actually in Sorrento it's in Sieano. The bad... This hotel could be fantastic the food let's it down, you have to select what you want from a choice of 3 items the night before, it isn't explained very well, The first night we had dinner we weren't told about the vegetables or salad that were on a buffet, so we simple had fish & potatoe. Like I've said it's spotlessy clean so there is so much potential.
