Myself, my sister and my nephew spent a week in June 2018 at this hotel. The management and staff were warm and welcoming, the food excellent and the hotel spotless. What we discovered during our stay was that most people staying there have been coming to the same hotel for years and we certainly could understand why. We spent most of our time at the hotel pool but you could also avail of their loungers on the beach that is only about 300 yards from the hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return in the future.

We stayed in the Portofino hotel for two weeks July/ August. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very good. We arrived on Saturday and as we ordered a room with a balcony as we always do we were very disappointed to see a balcony 5 feet long and 1 foot deep you couldn't stand on it not alone sit out on it in the evening. Almost a week later they still did not replenish the soap I had to buy shower gel and liquid soap and I pointed this out to the owner. The food was not great a lot of tinned stuff used and the staff were obviously told to get you out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. In the evening you had 1 hour to eat a four course meal drink your water and wine and the air conditioning was very poor given the temperature was between 26 and 35 degrees. As you sat down with your salad the next course was sat beside you on the table with no time between courses to digest your food. Most people at that time of the evening like to chill out over their dinner and take time to reflect on the day etc but heartburn was norm trying to rush your food. I pointed this out to our Rep and they did give a little time between courses but you still only had one hour but we had to sit on for about 15 minutes as we couldn't finish our food comfortably. The resort is beautiful and we will be back next year but most definitely not to this hotel, as even in the evening you couldn't sit comfortably inside and have a drink as there was no air conditioning and I asked the owner and he pointed out there was a small fan going just were he sat on his stool. As I say never again will I be next or near the Portofino hotel. Keep your money in your pocket or go for a much better hotel and it was not the cheapest either.
