“Wonderful experience. Will come again.”

Enjoyed our stay as a family of 3 (with baby). Breakfast was really good. Loved the pool and the view from our room. Staff were helpful and accommodated us with our requests. There was live entertainment in the lounge area in the evening and in the morning.

We stayed there last year and really enjoyed it, so we came back. It is a really good hotel and the food is excellent. The only downside is the balcony door in our room was damaged and we could not close it properly at night. This resulted in traffic noise and the wind whistling through the crack... more

The only downside is the balcony door in our room was damaged and we could not close it properly at night. This resulted in traffic noise and the wind whistling through the crack keeping us awake. The staff are always friendly and polite.

“A fine Hotel with a great view but not so great beds”

THE HOTEL As Seniors we really enjoyed the 12 days, we spent at the Labranda Riviera Hotel. We had a junior suite facing the Mediterranean and from our balcony were able to see the Island Comino right across from us, and in the distance even the Island of Gozo. The suite was very roomy and had a king size bed* and a pull-out couch bed in the event others are staying with you. A desk area with an integrated large drawer for clothes, and a small refrigerator was at the foot end of the bed. A water cooker with packages of Coffee, Thee and Sugar were present. A small area to hang clothes, a safe, a desk chair, a what more comfortable chair and a large mirror rounded off the room interior. The bathroom is rather small considering we had a junior suite. The room cleaning is done daily or at your discretion. We had ours cleaned every other day. *The King size bed had a very hard mattress on it which made it extremely uncomfortable. We usually woke up early due to pain in or backs. A memory foam mattress topper would certainly be welcome! The supposedly fitted bottom sheet did not fit and kept slipping off the mattress. A specially coated protective sheet kept slipping and folding over which made the mattress even more uncomfortable! The Hotel has a massage salon which we can definitely recommend. The indoor pool was not busy and appeared a little run down. The area was being refurbished and painted while we were there. MEALS We had booked half board and were quite pleased with the choices of food offered. There was certainly something for everyone there. The only negative comment here would be the drinks. No drinks are included with the evening meal, not even water. Those had to be ordered and paid for separately. Breakfast on the other hand included Thee, Coffee, Hot chocolate etc. POWER Malta has a 220-volt British plug system. The Hotel however had dual plugs. One standard European and one British. THE AREA As I mentioned earlier the Island Comino is right across from the Hotel, and in the distance the Island of Gozo can be seen. The Ferry that connects Malta and Gozo was just a few kilometers away and could easily be seen from our suite balcony. For roughly € 5,00 you could take the Ferry across to Gozo and back. Right in front of the Hotel were the smaller ferries taking people on tours to the Island of Comino where beautiful lagoons can be seen and swimming and diving are possible. We were in Malta in March which was too cold to swim. A Bus stop was located just a hundred meters or so from the Hotel. Taxis (Uber/Bolt) can easily be arranged for picking you up at the hotel. Across from the Hotel was a small kiosk where you could purchase snacks, fruit, toiletries and fried food. THE TOURS Tours of Malta or Gozo can easily be booked in the Hotel or online. Pickup is always directly in front of the Hotel. The only minus point is the shuttle taking you to the meeting point for the tour where bigger busses are waiting. The shuttles are packed full and very uncomfortable, (packed in like sardines) even for the short drive to the central meeting point. Once at the meeting point it gets chaotic as the sorting process of who gets on which bus and with which tour guide begins. The actual tours that we booked were very informative, although we recommend booking tours that only do your own language. A two-language tour (we were on one with Italian and English with a native Italian tour guide), leaves her dwelling on her native language more. Most tours require a fair bit of walking in order to see the sights, which can be tiring for Seniors.
