We chose this hotel because, on our last visit to Malta in 2003, they were demolishing the old hotel that used to stand here. It was such a sad thing to see, we wanted to go back to see the new buildings. And boy oh boy, were we in for a treat! . Overlooking the beautiful beach, the hotel consists of 3 towers atop the cliffs and a 4th adjoining tower that has access to the private beach below. We had a 6th floor, one bedroom suite and the views across the bay were beautiful. The bedroom has a large TV, a huge comfy bed, luxurious bedding and access to the balcony. The bathroom had a feature bath and huge shower, and not one but 2 hand wash basins, one each end of the room. Plenty of towels, bathrobes, slippers and luxury toiletries provided. A small hallway led through to the sitting area with opening doors to the balcony, sofa, dining table, another large TV and a fully equipped kitchen with full-size fridge/freezer, oven, dishwasher and microwave. In fact our suite was bigger than most one-bedroom flats in the UK and had so many cupboards and drawers you have plenty of space for all your belongings. . We arrived to be warmly greeted at Reception and offered a welcome drink. Reception and concierge staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout, we could not fault them. In fact all staff members were the same … friendly, professional, happy to help and efficient. . Our first morning we were greeted at the breakfast reception and not only shown to a table (as indeed we were every morning) but were also given a quick tour of where everything was, there were pastries, juices, cereals, fruit, yogurts, cheeses, a large self-service English breakfast section and an omelette station where they make them to order in front of you. You can eat inside or out and plenty of staff were on hand if you need assistance. . Restaurant wise you have a choice, there is the Mokka Bar, open all day serving food and drinks (Happy hour from 6:30). There’s an Indian restaurant and an Italian, and a small bar by the pool which only opened a few days when we were there but I presume will open longer hours mid-summer. . If you’ve hired a car, there is a large car park at the rear. If you want a taxi, there are usually BOLT cabs loitering nearby so can be there in minutes, and there is a bus stop just outside. . There’s an outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and complimentary towels, there is a kids pool, an adults-only pool and adults-only jacuzzi. There is a pool which seemed to be a free-for-all and always full of screaming kids so we gave it a wide berth. There is also a Spa offering treatments such as massages and facials, it always felt very calm and peaceful as we walked through it to get to the pool but I can’t comment any further as we didn’t use it. . In conclusion, everything was perfect. Nothing to fault at all and we really hope to be able to return soon.
