Amazing service from start to finish. No request was too big or too small. Booked a Highline suite to have access to the club lounge and Sky lounge Pool. Although the weather was sunny it was too windy and too cold to stay up there on the roof top. The pool was not heated and was ice cold. At least if the pool was heated I would have braved it! The pool on 10th floor is also not heated so wasn’t able to use that either. I used the indoor pool on 5th which was heated, they also have a sauna and Steam room. The gym is one of the largest in Malta, didn’t have time to use it but looked around and they have every equipment you’d need for a good work out and lots of space. Pool area can get busy in the afternoons and evenings cause the gym people also have access to it. Changing rooms are small and were dirty, they could do with a bit of an update too. Our room was on 18th floor which you need key access to from 15 above (felt extra secure due to this). There was a wonderful welcome gift too. We had a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with a desk, separate living room, dining table area, a furnished balcony and a beautiful view. Took us a while to figure out how to use the air-con, lights and to close the curtains so they bought us up an oil heater, we figured it out the next day. Theres a Flat screen tv in the living room and bedroom, kettle/coffee facilities with a mini fridge. In room safe, yoga mat and 2 light weights. Then all the bathroom amenities and toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The plug sockets are UK/European & Trans US. My only complaint would be I would like more hooks in the bathroom to hang stuff. The spa service was nice and we were offered tea/water before our treatments. Amit & Njambi looked after us in the club lounge, offering an outstanding service everyday. One day the breakfast was cold so we complained, other than that the club lounge is definitely worth booking. They provide breakfast, afternoon tea, pre dinner drinks and snacks. Would be nice if breakfast in the club lounge finished 30 mins later than the set times. Then we wouldn’t have felt so rushed in the mornings. We tried to go breakfast in the main restaurant once, but it was too busy and very loud so we went back up to the club lounge. The lounge offers the same selection just a more personable and quiet experience. Harsh - smoothly checked us in and out and also provided a great professional service. The hotel recognised that I was an Intercontinental Ambassador so upgraded our room and provided all the perks that comes with the status. Irene - at the Sky lounge on 19th showed us around and provided a welcoming professional service. The hotel is in the centre of a lot of wine bars, restaurants and clubs but the noise didn’t affect us. The hotel has a small private beach 2 mins away and the Paranga restaurant. We didn’t manage to use the beach but it looked clean and had sun lounger and umbrellas included. Theres a small shopping mall across the street and a larger one 10mins away. There is some construction nearby and they start from 7am in the week and 8pm on weekends. They are building a Voco hotel across the road (also IHG) So expect some noise but it’s bearable. Didn’t manage to go to the casino as we were too busy but would like to go next time. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning at some point.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The best part would have to be having access to the Opal Lounge. The staff were exceptional! they were very welcoming, attentive and had amazing service skills. A special thank you to Arjeneive, Euda, Kumar, Satya, Mary and Sopo for going out of your way to check in with us and always making sure our needs were met. We had our 20 month old son and elderly mother with us and they were all very considerate and accommodating. We wish each and every one of the team all the best!

“Great stay! Not your usual Intercon.”

Intercontinental Malta was a pleasant surprise, huge hotel with stacks of amenities. The street is night club central but didn't really notice that once in the room. Noise was an issue, we were on the 14th floor and could hear karaoke late night. A lot of construction for the new hotel across the road (a slight eye sore) but totally understandable. All the staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful. Club lounge staff especially welcoming. The highlight I must say. Room was modern but slightly under furnished it felt empty compared to Intercontinental standards, floor was a strange laminate material. Sliding doors to balcony keep shifting and not sealing. All and all a great stay, definitely different to a usual Intercontinental in Europe but given its a summer tourist hot spot alot of it makes sense. The price reflects this also.

Arrived from London, U.K at the InterContinental Hotel, St Julian's, on 8/4/24. Booked this particular hotel for our two young children, aged 10 and 4 who were looking forward to using the indoor pool and 'Kiddo' kid centre play area. Whilst checking out the hotel we saw a sign that said that the indoor pool was closed. It was closed for 4 days of our holiday for deep cleaning. The hotel did not share this information with us beforehand. So we paid for services which we could not use at the hotel. They did not offer us a reimbursement either. Not happy. The hotel added a daily €1.00 'ENV' tax at the end of our stay. We didn't read anything about this additional cost on their Terms and Conditions when booking it. It is a charge for the facilities/cleaning staff. There is a lot of construction/building work going on in the area. There are a lot of rocky surfaces, steep pavements/hills and stairs on the streets of St Julians. Its not very pram-friendly as we had to carry our pram up and down many steps everytime. There are plenty of food choices around. We tried 'Hugos Burger Bar'. The Chicken Caesar Taco took almost three separate sittings to finish off; very filling. 'Halo Kebab and Tacos' was similar. The wrap with chips were filling. Good value for money from both places. There is a Wellbee's Supermarket close by; similar style to Sainsbury's but with higher Euro prices. There is a Marks & Spencer's in a shopping centre opposite the InterContinental Hotel, but its small; not like the U.K shops and you can't use your Sparks card there either. There is a Starbucks close to 'Halo Kebabs and Taco' and another shopping centre (with shops like Nike) behind the hotel too. When travelling around, use Bolt for cheaper prices; not a hotel's fixed price list for destinations (usually based on 4 people in the car; expect to pay €5 extra for a 5th person). The majority of the Bolt taxi drivers were friendly and arrived from international territories; so Asian (e.g. Pakistani/Indian), Turkish, European (e.g. Portugal); Dagestan; and offer a wealth of info. Ask them which sights to see, which restaurants to eat at and local info. Email/contact tourist areas directly before paying and visiting to check if they're actually fully open and if any areas of the place are closed (particularly for entertaining kids). Popeye village was recommended to us but only half of the rides were available for kids; the place would only be fully open in May (their summer period) so we didn't go. We went to the Esplora Interactive Science Centre. It kept the kids entertained for hours. There is a piano carpet, figurines/models (like Batman, Transformers, Aliens etc) and so many things to test your visibility and sound. Trek towards St George's Square, Valletta for many shops, places to eat etc. Its like Covent Garden in London, and there are many pebbled streets and stairs. Go to Blue Lagoon. We purchased tickets from Cominoferries.com They have a Facebook page too which you can refer to. We tried to go early, on the first ferry (8:30am/9:30am) as the Blue Lagoon would be quieter and less crowded. I emailed the night before to purchase tickets but they cancelled due to strong winds. Is advisable to email the company at dawn on the day that you plan to go, to check that they are operating on that day (which may be due to weather conditions) and so that you can buy available tickets. You can catch any ferry to the island at any time, stay on the island for as long as you want but is advised that you take the 4pm-ish ferry to head back to Cirkewwa. The ferry trip from Cirkewwa to the Blue Lagoon was under 15 minutes, each time. We passed the big caves and the water changed from turquoise to royal blue. They have stalls on the island for food/snacks but they are pricey. We paid €4 for one Cornetto ice cream. Apparantly there's only 1 toilet. We never used it, but take your own toilet roll for precautionary measures.
