What a Fantastic getaway for 10 days at Iberostar Cozumel. We planned this Dive trip back in November and it couldn't have come at a better time. So off we go leaving San Luis Obispo and 30+ hours we're in Cozumel. Picked up a gentleman named Anthony and for $25 bucks for 4 people what a deal. We arrived after a twelve mile drive and was instantly Greeted with Iberostar and the check in was easy. 10 minutes later we were in our Suite and heading to the pool. What a treat and experience it was for me and my awesome girlfriend. I've dove Cozumel a few times and Denise is getting her open water certificate. So the staff, unbelievably how they made sure our stay was awesome and rewarding. Ok the breakdown starting with the front end staff... 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ 💫 🌟 to them. From getting us checked in, to bringing us straight to our Suite 8301 and unloading our luggageinto our Suite. Pool Bar staff as well got a 5 💫💫💫💫💫 rating. So off to the pool we went and of course the Swim up bar. We spent 9 days in the pool after a day of Diving. The bar staff learned your drinks and they had them at times waiting for you as you swam up to the bar. Food services maintained a healthy balance of nutrients, veggies a variety of meat choices with all meals. I give them a rating of 3 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ and not a complaint. Feeding the masses in general there was always a ton of variety to pick from. House keeping, Food services, landscapers everyone had a pleasant demeanor and always a warm welcoming with a smile. We didn't attend any shows, but heard the music and the enjoyment the attendees had. Sports/activity staff kept us hopping with water yoga, numerous games with a Hulu Hop, football, lots of fun. Of course a top rating of 5 🌟 ⭐️ 💫 🌟 ⭐️ Now to one of the happiest young ladies you have employed and her name is Munse, not sure of the spelling. Munse is a Star, she rocks in everything she does. She is a vital employee to Iberostar and I see advancing far within your company... Overall our trip, and experience was rewarding and well beyond our expectations. Thanks Phil and Denise

“Excellent Relaxing Adventure !! So Worth it !!”

The entertainment and daily activities were wonderful !! Angeles, Munci, Roberto were engaging and kept the fun going. I can’t remember everyone else’s names but the staff were all a wonderful group to engage with !! Thank You Iberostar for making our trip one we won’t forget !!

Our visit to this property was a quick decision based on price and location. We have been to Cozumel several times before but not this hotel. It checked many of the boxed we were looking for. It is a smaller hotel, and a quiet location on the beach about 16 km from San Miguel and the airport. We knew what Cozumel beaches were like and knew it was not a beach destination as such, but with some of the largest and varied selection of offshore reefs close by offers lots to do. We had swam and snorkled the reefs many years ago and experienced them when they were probably at their finest. Now due to storms and sand movements things have changed but many say they are improving again. Anyway, check in was quick and efficient and after our room became available we were shuttled to our building. Most buildings are two stories with four rooms on each floor. As a result, the property is spread out, centering on the main entrance; reception, lobby bar and breakfast and dinner buffet and then the large pools, activity and beach areas. There is dining and bar areas at each location. This spread out nature lends itself to extensive gardens and tropical vegetation and is quite beautiful and mature. As the hotel is a bit older than some,which is evident in the gardens and grounds, they have a lovely collection of birds and animals on it. The gardeners and maintenance staff do an excellent job in keeping all under control and the vegetation at bay. A shout out to them. The rooms are an average size and well equipped with a minimal decor. But unless you are feeling unwell, you don't spend much time there anyway . The bathrooms are large and well stockedwith towels and amenities, great showers with lots of hot water generally. Our AC did break down several times but within minutes staff were on the issue and it was finally corrected efficiently. Our unit, the 3500 block, which was on the edge of the property had lots of walking and cart traffic facing on it, due to the service road to the beach and dive area, so sitting outside for a quiet morning or evening was difficult. Also, there is only one outdoor chair, and a hammock per unit, which is a crazy. Our thatch roof was also being redone which was interesting to watch at times but resulted on the thatch constantly falling onto out deck. I don't think it was swept until it was finally finished after a four days and the workers moved on to another. The pool area is lovely and large, towels are plentiful and as is common with many resorts, prime locations were taken early with towels thrown everywhere starting very early in the mornings. This was common at the pool and the beach as there is only a few palapas and palm trees to use for shelter. The weather was perfect when we were there, so it made it difficult to chase the shade all day. Otherwise it was hot and sunny. The beach area is basically artificial and impossible to access for swimming without watershoes. So if your dreams of long sandy beaches are in your decision, head to the mainland. Even swimming off the pier is limited due to dive boat and tour boat traffic during the day. It's also quite shallow in the swim area. I am not being critical of this resort, only pointing out these features. We knew this before hand so for a week away from winter it was still very impressive. The staff everywhere are excellent, wait staff in the dining rooms were excellent, friendly and very accomodating. A good sign of well trained and friendly people. The staff who looked after the rooms were also happy, cheerful and accomodating. One of the big perks of the resort is their willingness to address plastic waste and have provided refillable bottles in each room and water stations everywhere outside for refills. We love good food and eating experiences and are generally quite flexible in these type of resorts so we had no issues. The food overall was excellent in all dining areas; buffets and the a la carte dining rooms. It was all nicely presented with great selections for most people. My only criticism of food is the menu featured is the exact same in the a la carte Mexican and Asian dining rooms is the buffet on different country evenings. There are so many other food cultures in the world for choice so duplicating them seems a bit unusual. The entire resort is very clean and well serviced. There are many areas we didn't try or experience but our overall opinion of this resort is excellent, as long as you are aware of the issues discussed here. We had a great time and the resort left us with a great impression and we will try another Iberostar resort one day
