Background: We took this trip with our 2 year old and 9 month old at the end of April. Just our family of 4 went and stayed in a single standard room with a king bed for 6 days/5 nights. Overall: It was an awesome experience. The hotel and grounds were immaculate. The staff was so good and attentive especially with the kids. It is a huge resort with confusing pathways but by the end of the day our toddler could probably get to the pools by herself. The entire resort was very kid friendly and met every expectation we had. Critiques: Very minor as overall the experience was great but would elevate the resort to a perfect level. 1. As a family resort we felt there could be more entertainment starting earlier in the pools. Most days they would have something planned for adults and older kids starting around 11. Half the time though they would spend most of the planned event time looking for volunteers. I think things like baby races, family ring hunt, etc would go a long way. 2. The lunch situation. Breakfast closes at 11 and lunch doesn’t open till 1230 which can be hard with little kids. No snacks pool side till a cart opened at 12 and even then it was usually more like partial meals than snacks. We mitigated by packing our own snacks, grabbing extra food at the breakfast buffet, and walking down and back to the beach (about 1/4 mile) to eat. 3. A way to request a specific time for house keeping. We were only in the room 2 hours a day for kids naps but of course they always wanted to clean then. By day 3 we figured it out and requested a specific cleaning time in app. They also didn’t replace the soap and toilet paper everyday but came and fixed the problem immediately. Room: Huge and beautiful. Came with a pull out couch for the toddler. No complaints at all and better than expected. TV had screen mirroring capability, fridge was well stocked, bed was comfortable. Food/Drink: Better than expected. Buffets had everything you needed and drinks were well made and strong. The toddler loved the non-alcoholic options. It seems they are trying to figure out if they are going to do reservations or not for restaurants. Staff at the front desk incorrectly told us you need a reservation for Mexican but you didn’t. Lots of changes and growing pains it seems with menus and scheduling at some of the restaurants. Greek: Quality meat and veggie skewers. Great service and had awesome recommendations of what to order. Steakhouse: Sides were slightly sub par but the cuts of meat were excellent. We both got the ribeye and it exceeded expectations. The desserts were fantastic as well. Most importantly the service like the whole resort treated the kids well and we really enjoyed the vibes of this meal. Under the sea: First of all the atmosphere was really cool. Food was solid. Portions were good. No real complaints or kuddos here. It was as expected. Mexican: I don’t know how to explain this but the entire experience was weird. Restaurant opened 10 minutes after expected, drinks before you sat down took what felt like 15 minutes to pour pre-mixed, the menu was half written in English and Spanish like it was put through google translate, and our server spoke rough English which made trying to order an experience. The food was ok but not great. Pools/Beach: The pools were beautiful and we didn’t use the beach a whole ton since the waves were wild. Plus the 9 month old kept trying to just eat all the sand he could find on the beach. We booked this hotel for the pirate ship slash pad but it was under renovation but we didn’t seem to miss it a whole ton.
