Great location right on the beach with nice suites and good restaurants. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean rooms. Conference rooms and event spaces were great for our meeting. The only downside is the hotel was very difficult to work with in getting our group contract nailed down. It took months and was only finalized less than a month prior to the even. Very frustrating to those attending our meetings. Highly recommend dining at the neighboring restaurant called Chloe.

This will be a fairly long review, so I can list all the pros and cons. Pros: --great suite with the best veranda. We chose the “partial ocean view” so we could see both the ocean and the city and it was perfect. The chairs and table on the veranda are super nice. We faced east, which was good because the afternoon sun would have been too much. The rooms were large, with a separate living area with full kitchen with all necessities, dining table, sofa. The room had a dehumidifier which was great and we had to empty it at least 3 times per day! The bathroom was a little dated, but was functional. Beds are super comfy. --we loved the adult pool and bar area. The infinity pool there was beautiful and the views were fantastic. We spent quite a bit of time at the bar because the drinks were good and the views were outstanding. Angel, our bartender for much of the stay, was truly great! --we also visited the other outdoor area in the hotel, with two other bars and the main two pools. All were nice and though at times it was crowded, but it was never overwhelming. --the check-in process was somewhat strange, with a whole bunch of special information and pieces of data thrown at us quickly. I do like the keys attached to a bracelet, which makes it easy for hotel security to know you are a guest, and easy to carry around. The check-out process was online, so that worked well. Cons: --they closed the adult pool/bar area one afternoon for a private event. Because we were only staying 3 nights, this was very disappointing as we had planned our afternoon at that venue. When I texted the hotel to explain my disappointment, they blew me off. I didn’t like that. --after check-out, I didn’t get my folio for over a day and had to ask for it. I shouldn’t have to do that. --sometimes the service was very slow. When we sat down at a bar, we sometimes were ignored even when the server looked right at us. It was strange. --the resort fee is quite pricey -- $65 per night! That said, they don’t nickel-and-dime you to charge for towels or chairs, but still that fee is pretty high when we were already paying nearly $500/night. --there was some construction going on inside the hotel, which made getting around difficult at times. It was in the way and made some walking difficult, and there was no signage about what they were actually doing. --in the suite tower, there are only two elevators and they are slow. Because it didn’t seem like the hotel was full, we usually didn’t have to wait too long, but I can imagine it could be difficult at times. --the beach area here is not great. There is very little beach/sand, and while we were there, it was red flag conditions the entire time, so swimming was dangerous. You don’t want to come to this resort for the beach experience. --there were some ugly places here. If you are walking on the beach and look at the hotel, there is this big high concrete wall structure that is just so ugly. I can’t imagine why they don’t soften it with foliage or something. --to get to Old San Juan, you must Uber or taxi. If there is a cruise ship in port (which there often is at least one and sometimes more than one), it can be very crowded, so just plan accordingly. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again. The pros for us outweighed the cons. We would definitely want to stay in the “suite tower” again as well.

“Clean hotel but loud parties”

The hotel itself is nice and clean but it’s not a place to relax. The staff was very good. There is lots of partying and casino activity. We checked out at about 4am for an early flight on Sunday morning . The lobby was full or people and smelled of weed and alcohol.
