Lovely hotel one pool was heated and was a jacuzzi the food we were half board was great a good choice something for everyone.the staff were friendly very prompt mostly unless very busy on an evening at taking plates away. The rooms were lovely good size very clean beds were a good size comfy a nice sized balcony. Not far from the beach that had lovely bars to eat and drink.

Rooms are small but fine - we had a balcony overlooking the pool and terrace and beach. This is the 2nd visit and I would go again - perfect location, small and quiet hotel and very friendly staff. great breakfast choice. A little expensive

“Great hotel”

Spent 5 nights at the Xaloc and it was wonderful with a friendly non-corporate feel to it, which we loved. The location is amazing and well worth paying for a sea view. Spent 5 nights at the Xaloc and it was wonderful with a friendly non-corporate feel to it, which we loved. The location is amazing and well worth paying for a sea view. The staff are a real asset to the hotel, especially in the dining room and we felt very welcome. The selection of fruit at meal times was incredible and the salad was really good too. I would have liked to give another half star and had the meat and fish been a little better would have awarded 5. Already planning a return visit!

It's all about location with this hotel. Right on a lovely beach and a short stroll into the busy town but far enough out to be calm (well in May anyway). Second floor sea view room which was clean and everything worked. We inadvertently chose a weekend that had French public holidays attached to it so the free on-road parking had all gone. The hotel has a few spaces out front on a first come first served basis and got a slot for €10 per night. A key for the room safe was €3.50 per day. All staff pleasant and attentive. So far so good but when it came to the meals it all went sadly wrong. The buffet dinner was poor. The warm food included pork, veal and fish. Veg included chips and green beans. There was a variety of salad. There was very much a processed, catering pack feel about the food. It was an easy decision to forego the prepaid in-house dinners for the rest of the stay. The house wine was €7.50 a bottle. Breakfast was better although the catering pack theme was still evident. The warm buffet food included wet bacon and powdered scrambled egg and some form of sausage. Some days there were baked beans and fried eggs. There were pastries, cereals and fruits. We found the hot drinks to be hot but not very drinkable. There is a lovely outdoor terrace with tables and chairs overlooking the beach but a sign in the dining room forbids taking any food, drink or cutlery outside. There is direct access to the beach from the terrace but the door is locked until noon. We didn't try the bar because we used the bar wherever we ate in town. At under €40 per person per night half board on the beachfront I can't say that it's not good value. I just think that they are aiming low and they could do so much better, particularly with food. Maybe reducing the volume of food and increasing the quality or offering a room only option. In summary it's five stars for the staff and the location and one star for the food and some of the hotel policies.
