It took us some time to choose a hotel for our 5 nights out of the city. We wanted something with a nice pool and a sauna and this one fitted the bill nicely. it was really good value , especially the apartments which looked recently refurbished and had everything you needed ie cooking facilities including a kettle, fridge freezer, large sofa and a big flatscreen TV ( hotel rooms only have very small TVs) including breakfast it was coming in much less than other hotels. It's good to book with the hotel directly as you get options to include dinner and also choice of hotel or apartment. Also you get one free spa access for each person. This gives you two hours there is a thermal circuit, sauna and steam and relaxation areas, definitely worth a visit. The pool area was large and clean with plenty of sunbeds. Very grand reception area, plenty of sofa areas to chill in, piped music was a little irritating first but you got used to it. Breakfast buffet was good, plenty of selection of hot and cold food. It gets very busy at the weekends at around the 10oclock time so if you get there at that time be prepared to queue. we tried the evening buffet it's €30 euros per adult and personally thought it very good. There were some traditional dishes as we as things like tuna lasagna, salads, meats hot and cold an an abundance of deserts ice cream ect. It's an option to add dinner which if you like buffets could be a good choice. I would like to mention a couple of the staff in patrticular Nester in the bar what a lovely guy. Mohamed the concierge really went above and beyond in helping us, can't thank him enough. in fact on the whole most of the staff were polite and freindly. Appreciated being able to have a slightly later checkout and using facilities due to a later pick up. The only downside to this hotel is its distance from a town or shops. Its about 15 minutes drive from the beach ( hote provides a shuttle bus 10.30 am drop and 6.00 pm pick up, general consensus was tht thats a long day at the beach get a taxi back) if you don't have a car you are isolated bar using taxis. We hoped there may be a local shop or restaurant within walking distance but there wasn't. if you don't mind that and stock up before you arrive you can quite happily stay within the complex there is also a well equipped gym and indoor pool. We would definitely come back here again (with more supplies) just one tips as it took me 3 days of cold showers to work it out.... there is a red button in the apartment toilet ( bit like an immersion boiler ) put it on for half an hour if you want hot water.

“Super Helpful and Friendly Staff”

We stayed for 3 nights and played golf twice. The hotel looks quite grand when you arrive,and we had no trouble parking, although it’s low season. In high season I expect you would have difficulty finding a parking space outside, in which case you would have to pay to park in the hotel underground facility. Our room had a lovely view with a small balcony over the swimming pool. It was fully functional and clean, but pretty tired. The air conditioning seemed to have been set to winter mode, so the room was 25C. Maybe okay for Spanish guests, but far too hot for us. The chamber maids, maintenance man, then hotel Director all tried to rectify the problem, which was subsequently rectified the following day. We were offered a move to an apartment, but didn’t fancy that. The beds in the room were also too hard for us, and the maids put on toppers the second night which made them a bit softer. Breakfast was pleasant, standard fare. We didn’t have dinner, but ate in the bar, which again was fine. We sat out on the terrace one lunchtime in the sunshine, and I suspect the pool area is lovely in high season. One lunchtime, the hotel recommended a restaurant in Aguadulce, restaurant Mistela Gastronomia, which was excellent. Very easy and cheap to get a taxi there and back. We played golf twice. Both days were at the weekend, but the course was very quiet, and we were not paired with anyone else. Very unusual even in low season. The area, and course is very hilly, so I would recommend a buggy (unless you’re super fit). It’s a woodland course, which I found quite interesting and challenging. Any water features are dry at the moment. ‘Rustic’ is the description I would use to describe the course. The pro shop were very friendly and surprisingly well stocked with a variety of clubs. It’s difficult to see how the hotel has achieved 5 star status, but the place grew on us, as all of the staff were so friendly. Despite having to complain, everyone we came into contact with tried their best to help, and seemed to want us to have a nice time. Not sure we would return, but we had a pleasant couple of days.

I had a three night stay, my first impression of the hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I booked to stay in the room with a mountain view. It was at the back of the hotel. My room was dated but clean, the air con was easy to use and effective. There is no balcony, the bed wasn't very comfortable, I couldn't see the TV clearly from the bed as it is a small stand alone TV. I had a choice and could have upgraded but this is my opinion of the room that I had. The swimming pool is wonderful with plenty of clean, modern comfortable loungers, lovely piped music and a safety person at all times. I pre booked and ate in the restaurant for the three days, it is a lovely restaurant, a bit chaotic in the morning at times, the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout the mornings. The choice of breakfast food was good, I like to eat dried fruit and muslie but this was not on offer. There is a hot and cold buffet, the sausages are delicious. I didn't have lunch. The evening buffet needs work, I got to the restaurant for 9pm and there was only three other tables being used, I was expecting to have to wait, the restaurant was the same each evening. The food didn't look inviting, with very basic salad to choose from, the hot dishes were just warm, I couldn't eat my first choice as the potatoes were hard, the (what I think) was lasagna was cold and had a funny texture, similar to the ones that can be bought in the supermarket. So I went to the grill area and chose the salmon which was nice. There is a basic selection of deserts to choose from so for 26€ I had a piece of salmon with some lettuce, olives and tomatoes followed by apple pie. The food didn't get much better over the next two evenings even though I tried different times. The restaurant didn't get much busier either, i could understand why. In my opinion it is not a five star buffet. The staff are all very professional and helpful but the buffet lets down a beautiful restaurant, lovely staff with so much potential. One of the great things about the hotel is there is free underground parking to keep the car cool. For all this I would definitely return. I will choose to upgrade my room to an apartment.

Clean rooms and the staff are friendly , piped music constantly on which I found a little annoying from breakfast to dinner .. food .. breakfast ok and dinner not much choice if your a vegetarian, very basic .. so not much to shout about there .. location ok if you just want to chill out other ... more

Clean rooms and the staff are friendly , piped music constantly on which I found a little annoying from breakfast to dinner .. food .. breakfast ok and dinner not much choice if your a vegetarian, very basic .. so not much to shout about there .. location ok if you just want to chill out other than that not much around other than the town which is about a 20 min drive. I think we would have enjoyed our stay much more if the quality of the food was better.
