Just back from a well needed break and the hotel, weather didn’t disappoint.we had a pool view on the sixth floor and that was plenty high enough for me. The happy hour is great as if you don’t know the area, there’s no need to go wandering straight after dinner , you can have a relaxing drink in the yarbar and Gloria was a great bar lady ,then head in to hall for entertainment which was lovely as we met some really lovely people there. The food was absolutely lovely, my only negative is that the price for water with your evening meal was a bit expensive for 7 bottles over the week it cost us over £25 which I think is a little expensive. But apart from one negative . The pool area is nice and a great sun trap , I would definitely come back for a weeks break again

Just come back from a last minute week stay Usually we stay in an apartment or The Angela So I suppose I’m comparing but it’s my honest review We were on 15 floor which was fine for us great to have a bath in bathroom and not just shower Struggled to get a seat in the main bar where acts are but no problem we went out Yarabar lovely sat outside for happy hour was a bonus Bar near restaurant was not open whole time we were there Restaurant food was amazing so much nicer than the Angela (they drown everything in water ) however sometimes they were slow at clearing tables manager even stepped in Pool area lovely although during happy hour they didn’t want you going to bar to order as the 2 working were too busy with table orders (I only wanted a coffee but they wouldn’t do it ) had to do online We always had a lounger but said if we couldn’t get one no power would go to beach but discovered you don’t get the pads on the seats for the €4 Overall we had a great week we know the bars restaurants and area really well so got out and about and into Malaga city for a day and the Port for Sunday funday Will definitely return to the Yaramar Would book for just after Christmas time but nothing showing on TUi as yet (was told due to price negotiation with hotel ?)

There is no dispute that this hotel is in a superb location opposite the beach. We have been coming to the Yaramar regularly for 20 years both with Tui and booking direct and have enjoyed our stays. However we were disappointed with some of the service we received on our latest visit. Positives: Very good location. The bedrooms are clean and tidy although, as others have said, the hotel decor is showing its age. The new chairs in the dining room have been repaired so that they no longer scrape across the floor. Good service by bar staff. Negatives: Poor customer service on the front desk. We booked with Tui a front facing room because that was all that was available at the time of booking. We emailed the hotel to request a side facing room as usual and had a positive acknowledgement. On checking in however we were told that we would have to pay another 15 euros a day to change to a cheaper room. There were available rooms but we were asked for more money which has never happened before. When we challenged this we were told by two different receptionists that it was a new policy. The website says you have to pay to upgrade the room but apparently this also applies if you want to downgrade. It gave us the impression that profit comes before people. The overall dining experience has deteriorated; the restaurant is more casual than it used to be. It says on the Tui website that men should wear long trousers at dinner, this was not enforced while we were there. There seemed to be little supervision of the buffet by restaurant staff; we saw one person put their hands in a bowl of nuts, other guests taking more bread that they needed and replacing it with their hands. It would be reassuring if the restaurant manager walked around more frequently to note hygiene issues and spoke to guests to ensure their satisfaction. The restaurant drinks menu is expensive in comparison to similar hotels. The entertainment is repetitive so we went out most nights. It's sad because most of the issues could be addressed easily so that guests feel valued and are happy to return.

The Yaramar is showing its age like most of the guests and me , it could do with a refurb , The room was on the 15th floor with sea view The beds were very good and the staff kept the room clean I have stayed in hotel rooms all over the world for over 50 years and never had to pay for a fridge ?. The food is okay and the waiting staff were very good . The pool was nice and warm but the jacuzzi needs to be fixed most of the jet’s not working. The evening entertainment was okay but not enough seating for the guests . Drinks were priced okay for a hotel and some happy hours with 2 drinks for 1 which was nice. The Wi-Fi was very good throughout the hotel and the lifts were good. Overall we had a good time here but feel it more a good 3star than 4 and at 66 years old I need a more exciting resort than Fuengirola.
