This visit was a special trip as a surprise for my husbands 60th Birthday We found Formentera 30 years ago on a day trip from Ibiza. We fell in love and returned as often as we could sometimes twice in a year and have seen it evolve into the place it is today Back in the day there was no sweet water showers were salt water; accommodation basic and swimming pools and aircon very rare Tourists were mostly German & British like minded family people, many who happily sunbathed naked 😂 Somewhere around late 1990's the Italians arrived when huge amounts of money where injected into transforming Espujols with boutique style hotels Restaurants and boardwalks for easy safer access to many beaches Formentera still retains its hippy island style but I love the new Formentera All that's missing is the Spanish ! It's like the Italians have completely taken it over. Sadly we are no longer able to afford to holiday here as often now as the prices have soared The last time we came was 4 yrs ago and it was amazing being back especially as we stayed in Hotel Roca Bella which I can't rate highly enough and had always wanted to stay there It was sad leaving especially as we won't know when we will return hotel location amazing the best Staff friendly and helpful Food always a good selection & tasty Room 132 a suite contemporary and the most amazingly comfortable bed Views of Ibiza from sitting up in bed with its twinkly lights waving back at you Sound of the waves through the night and fresh sea air awakes you Cleaners every day 😊🔆⛱🏖 Hotel Roca Bella you are Formentera 💛

Lovely spot for beach and perfect meal at the Beach side cafe / restaurant x clear waters and water sports galore , great for romantic trip or Sunni g on beach x the sea food is divine and great selection of beers and sparkling wines x

We have only just got back from 5 nights in Formentera, and it was fab . The hotel rooms were some what basic , but just what was needed , if your not planning on spending your time in your room. Clean rooms, Comfy bed, beds made up daily and a gorgeous view of the beach from our own terrace -which was a lovely little touch . I thought the hotel was practically empty as there was no noise from people there, and we slept really well - at breakfast I realised it was busy , and pleasantly surprise by the lack of noise . The only reason I didn’t give it 5*is because the breakfast could do with a little work (making sure food is hot , and replenished) - but still plenty of choice . The beach is not even a stones throw away and its a beautiful, clean beach. There is a cafe /bar outside the hotel, so not far to walk for a beer 😊 We asked, on leaving , about booking for the same next year . We can’t wait to go back . Definitely recommend to anyone ! Families , couples and solos

We booked 4 days of holidays at this hotel through German tour operator TUI. Staff at the reception is TOP!! Very friendly and helpful for any question you have (information about the island, the beaches, the restaurants, etc.). Both ladies, Erica and Chiara from Italy, are always smiling and 100% helpful in any trouble you might have. Staff in the restaurant is a nightmare, I believe they don’t have the right training for this job! Chaotic service for ordering the drinks, not professional at all! One day we had a sandwich at the Zulamar café, where they work the same waiters that you find in the morning and evening at Rocabella, and it took 1h30min to eat a sandwich (at least 30 minutes in order to pay and ask 4 times the bill!!! NO WAY!). We booked half board and this was a big mistake by our side. Choice of food was very limited but I can accept this as also TUI rated with two stars this hotel. But the quality of the food didn’t satisfy me. Considering how many good restaurants (Bocasalina, Gerri, etc.) are close to the hotel I would recommend accommodation with breakfast only. In this hotel, expect the two amazing Italians ladies at the reception, chaos reigns between the staff, not only at the restaurant but also for the housekeepers. One day they forgot to clean our room and change the towels: this is unacceptable at a 2 stars hotel like in 6 stars hotel. Chiara was really sorry and helpful in providing at least clean towels. The location is a big plus for this hotel surrounded by the sea. Es Pujols can be easily reached in 5 minutes on foot where there are a lots of shops and top restaurants, I would suggest especially Bocasalina. Another plus is that in the morning you can rent a scooter directly at the hotel. If you go in this hotel I would recommend to book a superior room that are renewed, size of the room was also very good and also the bathroom was ok. Overall the room looks more like a 3 stars hotel. Overall I would recommend this hotel but: book breakfast only and a superior room!
