The Barcelo Corralejo Bay was a lovely hotel , room, service, pools all great. Close to shops and beaches

Just returned from a 4 night stay here and it was a very enjoyable stay , food amazing , bed amazing , room amazing , overall amazing we will most definitely be returning as soon as we can

We arrived with a group of friends, staying for 5 nights, reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite, was very spacious but the decor was quite outdated, having said that, was very clean and functional and the bed was sooo comfy and huge, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers, friends of ours were the room next to us and theirs was very modern in decor. Unfortunately the mini fridge was not very cool, our friends all said the same. The rooms were, to my knowledge, cleaned/tidied twice daily and we certainly enjoyed the chocolates left at the end of the day. We had a nice balcony, it wasn’t very wide but adequate, with a bistro table and 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers, 2 extra sun chairs and foot rests, a clothes dryer/rack, we also had an outdoor bath/jacuzzi, we didn’t use it but nice if you like that kind of thing, the view over the swimming pools etc was really nice. We had breakfast included in our package, so much to choose from and the Prosecco was a very nice touch. Plenty of tables, nicely spaced out, you could also sit outside. There are lots of sun loungers around the pools but very limited drinks tables to go next to the loungers, plenty of parasols, it did mention on the beds, that reserving was not allowed, this however is not monitored, plenty were doing this. The gardens are beautifully looked after. There’s a nice bar/cafe near the pool but outside seating is quite limited. The pool area opens at 9am and closes at 6pm, we found this a little disappointing, at least stay open until 7pm. The bar inside the hotel is very well stocked, lots of bar stools and an area with tables and chairs and a small stage with chairs facing, this area felt a little conference/business like and spilled into the reception area. All in all we had a great time, I think a little bit of light music around the pool, poolside bar and inside bar area would be a nice touch and some of the bedrooms need updating/decorating. Oh and it’s a very short walk to a beautiful long sandy beach, that had some nice beachside restaurants.

We have just returned from our third visit in 18 months to this hotel.Our main issues of criticism this time were around the pools,previously there was a policed usage of the sunbeds ,if your towel was put on a bed and you did not use it for 30 mins then your towel was taken away,this is now not ... more

We have just returned from our third visit in 18 months to this hotel.Our main issues of criticism this time were around the pools,previously there was a policed usage of the sunbeds ,if your towel was put on a bed and you did not use it for 30 mins then your towel was taken away,this is now not being done and towels were being put on beds at 9 but people were often not turning up until the afternoon .There is no easy access and exit to the big pool which prevents the elderly and less ambient from using it,there are no steps and the ladders do not go to the bottom of the pool. The smaller pool has easy access but its use is largely taken up by increasing sessions of aerobics and underwater cycling,thus preventing the less ambient and elderly from being able to have a swim. As the big pool is is about three times the size Why can’t the aerobics take place in the big pool? Hand sanitisers should be placed at the entrances to the pool bar. As before all the staff were very friendly and helpful .
