Lovely hotel. We went as a 'younger' couple - 31 and 24 and have to admit the average age was probs 60 but didn't affect us. We went in March so was a bit windy but could always get a sun lounger. Lovely hotel. We went as a 'younger' couple - 31 and 24 and have to admit the average age was probs 60 but didn't affect us. We went in March so was a bit windy but could always get a sun lounger. The room was by the pool and was amazing, can't fault it. All toiletries provided. Huge comfy bed. Pool view and nice balcony. The main restaurant does get really busy, feel like they need a kind of reservation system. People do come/go quickly but some days were hunting around for a table but staff do help you where they can. The food was a good variety but I wouldn't say the themed nights particularly matched the themes. The entertainment was more aimed at the older generation but we loved the piano bar. It was so cool and nice to sit with unlimited alcohol and listen to music and play games. What I would say needs improving is the pool bar food - the wings were nice but the pizza depended what day you ordered it - some days was like a very thin semolina crust burnt on the bottom. The burger my husband said was disgusting, like a canteen/cafe flat patty so we didn't order that again. Chips were good and generous, feel like they needed more variety. The cocktails were great and generous, we had so many. Is a bit different to other all inclusives we've been to as they don't serve you at the sunbed but this was good to stop us being lazy and made us get up and go to the bar! Staff were really friendly and lovely. What i loved the most was being able to just walk out the gates and walk/run along the promenade ever day and watch the sunset with a takeaway cocktail (we took our own thermos flasks which they were happy to fill up). Such an amazing location and we walked to the Rubicon market one day and to the lighthouse other days. Would recommend this hotel but if you are a young couple looking for a lively party hotel then this isn't it, but was perfect for a chilled week! Felt very well rested afterwards.

“Relaxing 😄”

Another relaxing stay at the Timanfaya Palace (our 5th time). It all depends on what you want from your holiday, for us this has everything we want. Great location. Another relaxing stay at the Timanfaya Palace (our 5th time). It all depends on what you want from your holiday, for us this has everything we want. Great location. Straight out the back gate onto the 9km promenade with a two minute walk to Flamingo beach. Clean. The hotel is kept spotless by the diligent cleaning staff. Food and drink. Plenty of choices and premium brand drinks on all inclusive. Room. We have not had one of the refurbished rooms yet but the rooms we have had have always been perfectly adequate ( we don’t spend a great deal of time in the room other than to shower and sleep). Staff. Now this is where the hotel really shines from Jose as General Manager right the way through to bar staff, cleaners, waiters, Animation and maintenance teams, they all seem happy to make your holiday the best it can be. Special mention must go to Ahmed in the restaurant who once again looked after us impeccably. Chris and Angel in the pool bar. Hector on reception now having moved from the Animation team and of course Elisa, Jean Carlos and a special mention to Imara who when a guest became ill went above a beyond to look after her and her husband until the ambulance arrived. We have stayed here regularly since 2014, and there are are many reasons that we return. The spotlessly clean rooms, the great food and entertainment and the ample availability of sunbeds etc are a few of them. What continues to stand out though is the staff. They don't just work at the hotel, they are clearly proud of the place and passionate in what they do. Brilliant teamwork. We get treated like old friends, and nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks must go to the room maids (room 530) who did a fantastic job, and also to Pepe and Ahmed in the restaurant, who always looked after us well. I could go on and on but the same thanks go to Angel and all of the waiters in the pool and piano bars and also the theatre, we never had to wait to be served. Finally thanks to the manager himself, Jose, who stopped by for a chat when we were sat in reception waiting for our taxi. It will come as no surprise that we are back for two weeks in September.

Unrelaxing... Basically by this I mean the refurbishment work being done at the hotel, we were woken every day before 8am by the builders as we were in the block they were refurbishing. Now I was informed prior to our visit by TUI and we could have changed our holiday free of charge but they did mention it would be minimal interruption but it wasn't, not whilst we were there, unfortunately. The section we were in also didn't have a carpeted area outside the room so you could hear everything, the cleaners buggies, peoples suitcases, talking, it just wasn't quiet as everything echoed. Yes as people have mentioned, the staff are good but I haven't really been to a hotel which didn't have good staff. The one thing that I found with the staff at this hotel is they are very observant, which made their service attentive. Our room was spacious and very well cleaned but dated, as was the hotel in areas. The only thing I found odd was there was only one chair in the seating area but there was two of us which didn't make sense. Yes we could sit on the balcony and we did have a lovely view of the pool and sea view, but when you sat on the chairs on the balcony you can't see out, you are looking at the back of a wooden balustrade. The shower in the bathroom was great though, lots of lovely hot water and a great water pressure. Our room hadn't been refurbished. PS – if you find your bed a little hard like we did, request a mattress topper and they will put one on for you. Pool towels are complimentary, you just pay a euro for a replacement, which is a fair price. Yes you have to pay for a safe, I think it was 17 euros for the week, which is nothing really if you value your possessions. The restaurant was the other part of our holiday which stressed me out. Basically, our first breakfast was a nightmare, we ate late as we went for a walk before breakfast. It was rammed, too busy, although in a plus side to the workmen starting early we went down early for breakfast and it was lovely at 8am. Lunchtime was nice, quiet and civil too. Evening meal again a nightmare, rammed and too busy. The food is plentiful, there is lots of variety, it did seem to go cold quickly once plated, but ensure you collect a hot plate and this helps immensely or use one of the microwaves to heat it up which are available. Although it probably goes cold whilst you are navigating around what you want to eat, as it is a buffet service. The busy times are obviously not the hotels fault as you are feeding a lot of people and you can't predict a time to go for the best for it to be quiet and non-stressful at evening meal. Maybe a time slot at this time of day to reduce the amount at one time would be ideal, then it wouldn't feel like a free for all. We were all inclusive and you get to eat in the Kasbah restaurant, thoroughly enjoyed this meal. Everything from the service to the food was excellent and not stressful as it is waiter service. Pool bar restaurant was nice, this was waiter service at lunchtime with a more fast food type menu (burgers, wraps, pizza, fries etc) Coffee shop was good too, did some nice drinks and cakes. We never went in the disco bar to see the shows, it just wasn't something we wanted to do and spent our time at the piano bar. This part of the hotel to me was charming and the service was impeccable. Enjoyed listening to the entertainers that played every night and loved watching a few of the guests dancing to the music. Only one night was it spoiled when Elvis was in the disco bar and you couldn't hear the entertainer in the piano bar that night, because it was too loud. The hotel has a unusual layout with different areas on four different floors. The pool area was as mentioned no reserving of sunbeds until after 9.30am. What we did find amusing was watching people sitting early morning at their designated spot (which they get every day) until 9.30am then going for breakfast. Although, as usual there is always the odd people who get a sunbed and leave it empty after 9.30am. I must admit the pool area was very spacious and the sunbeds were of good condition and everyone got an umbrella too for if you wanted shade. You don't need to grab a sunbed early as there are more than enough to go round at any time of the day, which is a plus. As this is my review others will have a different perspective and I am trying to be as open and constructive with ours. There are numerous people who go year after year, as it is priced very well for the service you receive. I hope it doesn't read too negative as this hotel does have a lot of plus sides, and I wouldn't say I wouldn't recommend it, but it was just a hotel that basically it just wasn't for us. You can't please everyone I know, that would be impossible.
