Without question, the Amari Vogue Krabi is one of the most special places on the planet in the eyes of my family. This was our 4th visit to Krabi, and our 3rd visit to the AVK since we first visited Krabi some 12 years ago. When I have been lucky enough to bring my family to Thailand during the Easter school holidays, we always try somewhere new in Thailand for the first week, then go somewhere we know and trust for the 2nd week. This year we combined Koh Lanta with Krabi…and once again the Amari Vogue did not disappoint. This hotel is boutique and as such its smaller than most chain hotels, but that brings a truly personal service..and that is the reason we returned again. The management team of Nana and Woody really did go above and beyond to make us welcome this – not necessarily through material things, but true personal gestures that leave an impression and a memory. We reserved our two favourite rooms which were a combination of a Grand Deluxe and Deluxe that were next located to each other near to the pool and beach, so we knew our children were in the next room to us, and upon arrival, we were greeted in the lobby by the entire team…and each of the beds was decorated with the message “Welcome Home” in flowers and foliage – simply unforgettable. During our stay it was my wife’s and my daughter’s birthday and on both occasions, they were served a birthday cake at breakfast and whilst we were out of the rooms, again the beds were decorated with flowers to recognise their birthdays. Most of the staff recognised us from our previous visit 2 years ago, and it was wonderful to be greeted by name on a daily basis. Worthy of special mention are Nee and Ann who are the most special ladies my daughter could hope to meet – they were so friendly towards her and looked out for her every day and made her 11th birthday and holiday very special. Our room maids, the pool boys, reception staff, restaurant staff, bar staff - in fact I don’t recall a single member of staff who didn’t share a smile or greeting each day. The food and beverage product is excellent, especially the breakfast which is a real treat after the best nights sleep I can recall in many years (Super comfortable beds and total blackout rooms) – the Egg station with Eggs benedict cooked to order is a great start to the day, and the conversion of the old sunset lounge into the Voyager bar serving Starbucks saw my children demolish their holiday spending budget very quickly on Iced Chocolate drinks! There are more luxurious and more expensive hotels on Tubkaek beach, and for sure grander hotels in Krabi, but after experiencing Thailand for more than 20 years with my wife, and subsequently with our children, there is not a hotel on the planet I would call ‘Home’ in the way we feel about AVK and that is quite simply down to the most wonderful staff led by Nana and Woody. If you want to experience true hospitality, then please give this wonderful hotel a try, you wont regret it.

“Great place, Helpful staff”

The staff was quick and friendly, which made us feel valued. Though there weren't many parking spots, the staff helped us out, so it wasn't a big issue.

“Ideal Hotel in Krabi!”

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Ideally located right on thr Beach and has all necessary facilities in site. Scooter rental is also available, transfer services and the ease of booking tours. Everyone is super nice and helpful! Will definitely come again

Straight away, I wrestled hard between 3 and 4 rating with TripAdvisors ranking system, 3 is average, 4 is very good. This lands right at a 3.5. I booked the Amari under the impression it was a 5 star property and while being nice, it fell quite short of a 5 star property. It was by no means dingy and aspects were quite nice but we did have issues which were recurrent during our 6 night stay. We had friends staying at the Banyan Tree next door and after visiting them, that is unequivocally a 5 star experience. The beauty of the region highlights the property at Amari. The breakfast was a nice perk to be included in the room rate. It cycled through various items to give slight variety over our 6 night stay. The room pictures online of the 2 bedroom villa we stayed in (1101) were accurate but they certainly did highlight the room in ways that when you saw the space in person you were left wanting a bit more. I thought we’d have an ocean or beach view and while the personal pool was nice, you couldn’t enjoy an ocean view and in general the villa was a bit lacking in natural light. We had a recurrent issue with our ceiling leaking and it unfortunately leaked dirty water from rains on a counter where a member of our group had her purse and makeup located. We had a few days where we were out of the room for 5+ hours with the “make up room”, light on and we returned to it still being not cleaned. We then would call the front desk, in some instances delay a nap, as they would then come and clean once we were back. A day before leaving we arranged help with our luggage as well as taxi service to the Krabi airport. We tried to reconfirm that these things were arranged and good to go the night before leaving and we were told we had to arrange it in the morning. Hours earlier we were told we were all set with luggage and transportation. Learning that we weren’t set for our travels which are 36 hours in duration was frustrating because we were trying to create as low of stress environment going into our travel day. I did highlight issues above which we experienced. It is a nice property and has a lot of families who were staying there with kids. It was very nice to have some quiet time at smaller pools without children. Marcos restaurant was nice to have onsite.
