Stayed at Xperia Grand Bali with family in June 2023. We were a party of 10 including kids adults and a disabled family member. The Xperia is more than equipped to cater for most needs of guests. The pool is more than enough for kids and adult fun. The rooms are clean and tidy. They are cleaned daily. The restaurant provides more than enough choice for all. The staff works hard and have a polite attitude and always have a smile on their face. Will be coming back for another visit.

“10 days in Xperia Grand Bali Hotel - Alanya”

Recently we spent 10 days in Xperia hotel in Alanya. It was all inclusive deal so all food and drinks were included. It was 4 of us, 2 older couples, 2 rooms. Person at front desk asked us if we want to upgrade rooms to bigger ones with balcony for €10 per day. At that moment I realized that we booked standards rooms. So he took us to see the rooms. Standards rooms are nice, but quite small, single bed, 18 m2 with bathroom. Upgraded rooms were considerably bigger with balconies and there were 2 beds. Double and single. Not that we needed that extra bed. We took upgrade but didn’t like idea that upgrade is cash only, no credit cards. The other thing is that I checked Booking.com later and found out that there I would pay that upgrade 50 Euros for 10 days instead of 100. Rooms were on 5th floor. Nothing luxury but comfy enough. There is elevator. WiFi is included and we used it extensively. Coverage is not greatest. At the pool only if you are close to the doors, reception. TV in the room did not run a single TV channel properly. Bad picture and scratchy sound all over the programming. We had to use Netflix on iPad instead of TV. Hotel is nice looking building and is perfectly positioned in the city. Only about 150m from the Kleopatra beach and surrounded by countless shops, restaurants, small or big stores. 200m from the main street where one can walk in the evening and find more and better than expected. Trust me I know, we left with bags full of nice Turkish products, leather, tea, shoes. Steps from hotel there is a Alanya Museum that everyone should see. Turkiye is very history rich country. They respect it, protect it and display it for all tourists to see. There is a swimming pool in Xperia. We enjoyed it every afternoon after whole day on Kleopatra beach but had few issues with it: 1. Water in pool is cold. It was as they are adding tap water all the time or even chilling it instead of just letting it warm up to ambient temperature. 2. Beware of tiling around the pool. It is slippery when dry and when wet it is like skating rink. It is amazing that nobody fell and broke bones. Somebody has to resurface pool area with non slip coating or tiling. 3. Male washroom at the pool need urinal added. Needs renovation. We considered Kleopatra beach to be one of the nicest ones we ever experienced! Trust me, we visited quite a few. Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Playa del Carmen (Mexico), Lido beach (Sarasota, Florida), Hvar, Split, Sevid, Primosten (Croatia), Siesta beach (Sarasota, Florida), South Beach (Miami, Florida), Key West (Florida) … and others. Kleopatra beach is an absolute gem! It is kilometres long. It has fine gravel which feels better than sand. Crystal clear sea, warm to perfection. You can rent a sunbeds and umbrellas. As a Xperia guests we got that every day for 50 TL each. So 2 sunbeds and umbrella set us for 150 TL each day. That is about 5.5 dollars or Euros. There is restaurant/bar at the beach called Number one and there you can have expensive coffee, drinks, small meals and enjoy WiFi that was very useful. Everybody in Alanya and Turkiye overall likes to get Euros or dollars for their wares and services but will settle for TL (Turkish Lira) if you say that you don’t have any other cash. Food in hotel is buffet type served 3 times a day in restaurant that also has tables in the garden. There are tables inside, there is adjacent bar with inside and outside seating. Hotel is air conditioned but for some strange reason all areas and doors are wide open all the time so there is no effect with AC. The truth is that whole Turkiye is like that, winter or summer. They heat or cool stores and restaurants but also keep doors wide open as buyer will fail to enter the store otherwise. We were there in first 2 weeks of September that was very hot. Temperatures up to 27 deg. C. and eating or drinking in the evening one could not escape from heat. Food was love/hate affair. Restaurant and food was nice, clean, fresh, many stuff available to bring drinks or get something. We didn’t have a meal that didn’t taste good. Turkiye has plenty of food. Veggies and fruits are of the best quality. No Monstanto garbage allowed there. Problem was in food selection that was always the same. Rice, mashed potatoes, chicken stew, turkey stew, french fries, mixed veggies, pasta, red pasta sauce. 2 soups a day. Excellent salad bar, olives, hummus, all nice. Pastries, all own production, nice selection. Every day three times a day marvellous watermelons, oranges and other fruits. For some strange reason oranges were not present all the time. Just so you know that Turkiye has best oranges. There is a barbecue in the garden but we had it only three times in 10 days. Chicken wings, fish and once a doner. That was all hit with guests and everyone flocked to the grill. One has to ask why not every day? Also, every day for breakfast you could have boiled eggs, but not scrambled ones and never sunny side up. We spent 7 days In January in Kleopatra Atlas hotel just one street further. In comparison it is a notch down from Xperia but it was twice less costly. We paid €46 a night there and €110 a night in Xperia. It was for different time in year so that may made difference in cost. Still Kleopatra Atlas had 2 dishes done on barbecue every evening at 6 PM! They also had smaller variety to offer but cooked various meals every day and we were very satisfied with food there. Nobody complained. Finally about hotel staff. They were all good, helpful, young and deserve recognition and recommendations. Would we go back to Xperia again? We will definitely come back to Alanya. Like it better than Antalya. And yes, we would use Xperia again but maybe with different meal plan.

Cleaners do absolutely nothing..our room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly even when we requested that they do! Food is very average..repetitive😣. We went to the sister hotel..Saray Beach..completely regretted why we booked Grand Bali as it’s more modern, and literally by the beach . I
