After flying 12 hours or so to a city we'd never visited, in a country we'd never visited, to a hotel we'd only ever seen online, we were excited, tired, and a little apprehensive. But all our concerns went flying out the window within minutes of arriving at Hotel Vitrum. The staff were (are) able to flip to English in seconds and were ever so friendly and helpful. There was a warmness and authenticity to their interactions that can't be taught in any customer service manual. We felt welcomed as people, not just guests, or nights or whatever profit units’ hotels use for occupancy. Our suite was roadside yet quiet, modern and almost spotless. And I can recommend the bed as we slept 12 hours straight. The time zone difference between BA and Auckland is not favourable to eastbound travellers. The location for us, was fantastic. Palermo is walk-able, eclectic, hip, raw, historic and funky. And the dining (with craft beer) - oh my - so many quality choices near or even far. Asado, alfajores, empandas, choripan and all the milanesa one can eat. Throw in the wine and walking it all off becomes essential. Luckily Vitrum is within an easy walk of the subway, so all of BA is your oyster. What a pearl of a city it is. We can't wait to go back. Special mention must go to the Venezuelan concierge who made us feel most welcome. If you ever make it to New Zealand there is a seat at our table for you.

The management of this hotel hires and/or trains very well. This is a nice little boutique hotel on a quiet street. The reason for their 5 stars is the friendly and helpful staff. They gave the impression that no question was too dumb and no request to menial. As an example, on the first day, we inquired as to the best place to catch a taxi. The young person behind the desk insisted on escorting us to the best place. The breakfast that comes with the room is terrific and the other meals that the restaurant serves are better than most hotel restaurants.

we have been staying at the virtue ever since it opened around 12 years ago. they personnel have always been amazing. the hotel has grown in size, but staff have always remained attentive, helpful and very personable. The hotel could use a little maintenance and the pool wasn’t maintained as usual, but we were visiting under extreme circumstances. The coronavirus had reached Argentina and staff were making the hotel as safe and as comfortable as possible. the location is perfect. A short walk to the main shopping area in Palermo, lots of close restaurants, variety stores and a grocery on the same block 5 store fronts away for snacks, beer, wine, etc. there are a couple fluff and fold laundry services close by as well. Uber is available in Buenos Aires finally and seems safe and reliable. It’s terrible that taxis drivers are suffering, but, like most cities around the world, taxis have not been the most honest in the past and are now suffering because of corrupt drivers and a very corrupt taxi company. even from the airport I would suggest using a remis or private car service. less than $50 USD for 3 people with luggage and will include all road tolls. the hotel will accommodate you ar you can hire one at the airport before exiting. if you get a price you don't like move the the next remis serves as they are lined up. getting an uber seems to be getting easier at the airport . just don't let its an uber, simply friends picking you up. We always stay at the Vitrum and will continue for our next visit.

We stayed for 9 nights made up of three different stays - a family of 5. Wow this hotel delivers in spades - the staff are outstanding - young , no attitude, knowledgeable, efficient and all this in Buenos Aires - it's RARE.From the minute we arrived a young man ran out to our taxi to collect bags from across the street, nice rooms good breakfast. They book excellent and reasonably prized transfers - get them too organise your arrival transfer. Every time we return for our next stay they were so warm asking how our trip was , none of this " too cool for school" - warm genuine people. Palermo is the perfect area to stay in - the restaurants in the area are fantastic , it is safe for walking at night with teen aged girls. We will be back ! What happened to the filtered water in the pool area ? Please bring it back. !
