We booked to stay at Sansi Diputacio hotel for three nights from 11 Sept 17. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled, which meant we had our stay cut in Barcelona to two nights. Unfortunately the hotel would not give us a refund on the room but they gave us breakfast and an amazing room 803 which is on the top floor with a balcony. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of choices. The hotel is in a good location not far from the square, bars and Las Rambles. The air conditioning work when you put the key in.
I am giving this hotel 2 stars and thats being generous. The only good thing is the location, but there many others in this great location to choose from. To my detriment, l made the mistake of not reviewing this hotel on TA. I nearly always check the feel of the reviews and can get an overall vibe from multiple reviews. On this occasion l just booked hotel and paid the price. I had a bad vibe the moment l walked in.Check-in was at 3pm and l was given my keys at 2.59pm. Many other guests were still waiting to check in after 3pm. Service failure. As l entered the room, the floors were still wet. Room was dark and on the small side, Many tiles in the bathroom were loose and wobbled under your feet. The bed was quite ordinary (and for me this should be the most important thing). Pillows were extremely uncomfortable - they were the foam type which l find hard and too firm for my liking). I could not believe this so-called 4 star hotel had no coffee/tee making facilities. I've been to 1-star hotels with tea and coffee available in room. The air-conditioner was a major struggle.Even on max settings, you could barely feel any cool air. I could not believe in this day and age there was no USB adapter to recharge mobile phones. Very frustrating. Front desk could not even supply me with a power adapter. I normally always acknowledge the great work of house-keeping staff. In this case they were horrendous. No acknowledgement and miserable looking. In one case, l walked into my room to find the attendant on her mobile phone texting away. The room was untouched and l managed to convey to her not to worry about servicing room today - it was hopeless. I thought this may be why rooms were so slow to become available at check - in; housekeeping were too busy on their iPhones. I felt robbed, at over AUD$175 per night, l expected more. Maybe we should take a security deposit from the hotel at check-in, just in case the hotel doesn't live up to expectations. I'm my humble opinion, this hotel needs two major overhauls - one with the hotel itself , and secondly management need to go. Please be warned. Caveat Emptor. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. Very Disappointed.
At arrival we got some confused information that the first night our booking had been changed to a nearby hotel. If we accepted these changes we were promised a compensation for this inconvenience. The hotel also assured us that everything was taken care of, no need for payment etc. at the “spare hotel”. Despite the assurance from Sansi Diputació we were requested to pay at check out from the spare hotel, both for the stay and the breakfast, both already payed for. At return to Sansi Diputació no one had any knowledge about the compensation. All the discussions, additional check-in/check-out, packing/unpacking, transport etc took significant amount of time and energy. Despite repeated contact from both our side and hotel.de the hotel has not responded or given any additional explanations or apologies and we never saw any refund/compensation. The breakfast that you can add to your stay is not worth the money. Save this and buy your breakfast at some nearby café instead. I also recommend to avoid this hotel due to the customer treatment.
My Mum and I stayed here for 2 nights and found many problems. The bathroom was the worst with a cracked sink, holes in the tiling, no plug on the bath and a terrible shower which at first we couldn't work then wished we hadn't bothered asking staff to sort it as it fired out at all angles. The safe didn't work, no tea/coffee in the room, no lock or catch on the bathroom door. The toilet in reception was broken too. Seemed like the staff were young girls out of their depth. Not a good place to stay at all.
My wife and I had reservations to stay at this Hotel June 26th-29th 2017. These folks are running a scam business. The room they provided had no air conditioning. The temperature in Barcelona was in the high 90's. They said nothing but lies indicating a technician would fix problem but never did. They provided another room but it was also a sauna. We did a dispute with our Credit Card company and they claimed we were "No Shows". These folks do not deserve to be in business. We are currently fighting this dispute but you have been warned what you are up to if you stay at this hotel !
