I got a good deal on this hotel and for that reason I have given it an average rating. I would not class it as four star, but nevertheless for the price I paid I had a comfortable stay. Did not have breakfast in the hotel and found some really good places nearby. Was looking forward to using the gym but was told that someone would have to come to let me in to have a look so decided not to bother as it seemed a lot of hassle. My room was clean, bathroom was fine - yes there was a cracked tile but I can live with that. And room temperature was fine. But I agree that reception staff could do with some customer care trying. Looking for a friend in another local hotel I was twice sent off in the wrong direction - in the rain - when a quick look on line could have saved me walking up and down in the rain ! Reception staff seem very young and service much better when the assistant manager was there!

Hotel is clean and well located, beds are good. That's it. If you get a good rate, why not. Otherwise not a 4 star hotel. If you looking for a romantic place for a week-end, not the right choice! The place has no charm and is worn out. If you are looking for a place for business (my case), not great either. I would not recommend to colleagues. Wifi connection was not working in my room. Had to go in the lobby. Mentioned it to the staff, but with no effect although I staid there 3 nights... Some basic training to the personnel is also needed starting with, "Hello", "thank you", "did you have a nice stay" and "good bye". All were missing...

The wi fi was the only decent communication at this hotel. Reception staff were unhelpful to the point of being rude. Any information had to be pried out of them like pulling teeth. As for the room it had seen better days and the bathroom minute. The sliding shower door was so narrow a large person would struggle to get in. Breakfast OK.

My wife got a large piece of sharp glass in her mouth when eating their fruit salad for breakfast. I cut my hand and bled when I handed it to the staff. The waiters removed the salad from the buffet but didnt find any more glass. Because they had never experienced it before they concluded that it was not their fault and they didnt even apologize, except for the nice receptionist. The hotel manager promised to contact us with some sort of resolution, but never did. Never have we experienced such a careless, arrogant and rude treatment. The hotel itself was ok but the so-called spa was a joke, no pool or hot tub. The food at the restaurant was so poor that all the guests were laughing to eachother.

I do not recommend this hotel to anybody! We stayed at hotel California am Kurfürstendamm during May 2017. On the first morning we realized that the safety box had been ribbed of from the cupboard and stolen (photo attached). We had left the room for a quick dinner last evening at 20-22 pm during which time it probably had happened. Person belonging to hotel staff visited the room before we left to the dinner and apologized that it was the wrong room. Later hotel explained that the person had come to check internet problems. We lost a considerable amount of cash, credit card and identification papers. The behaviour of the hotel personnel was very odd and avoiding during the handling of the matter and all our things were taken care very slowly and unfriendly. We were for example told that we have to call the police by ourselves. Only after a tough discussion the representative of the hotel called the police. Police was not able to solve the matter, since the hotel never delivered any video films of the time. The hotel did not compensate the cash, which the insurance did not cover. We did not even receive an answer to the letter requesting this. The service was bad and safety on a poor level in a four star hotel.
