“Average inn in Joao Pessoa”

We stayed in Pousada do Caju Economic in July 2012. Our stay was ok, but a bit overpriced at R$ 140 (US$ 70) a night. The room was pretty basic, double bed, AC, TV. Bathroom old but very clean. The room was pretty basic, double bed, AC, TV. Bathroom old but very clean. No mini bar though. Internal facilities are rather run down, though. Breakfast was ok, but it only starts at 8:00 a.m and is not very punctual. There is a swimming pool but it wasn't inviting, and it's right next to the car park. And the decorative dinosaur on the sidewalk holding a cashew has absolutely nothing to do with the city. Instead, it refers to another tourist attraction, the dinosaur footprints in the town of Sousa, 430 kim (267 miles) away We tried to extend our stay one more night but it was booked up. So we walked across the street and booked into Pousada Tambau. The facilities were basically the same, but breakfast was much, much better and the night rate was R$90 for a double room. So next time we're definitely staying across the street..
