This is a perfectly located hotel in the central are of Beijing, really close to the metro, supermarket, and within walking distance from several main attractions. The rooms are spacious and overlook the park in front of the hotel (which is worth the visit to learn of the daily activities by locals). Bed, amenities, service, all of good quality. The staff is very very helpful and several are fluent in English. We particularly liked the non imposing expenditures for eventual services: we were able to use the business center and print staff at no cost (certain hours), had just a soup in the otherwise expensive and huge buffet, and had fruits we bought outside peeled as a favor. The rooms may have a couple of weird looking tiles, or not so modern furniture, but this is a hotel much cheaper than others in the area, offering comfort and services of quality.

I arrived by train from Harbin not realizing how close this hotel is to the main train station. Close enough that I could have walked in warmer weather. It also resulted in an issue at departure because no taxi was interested in making such a short journey back to the station. Not the hotel's fault but something to be aware of. That aside the Inner Mongolia Grand turned out to be a very good choice from many aspects. It is a big hotel with a huge lobby. My room was reasonably high on the 10th floor with a view out over surrounding buildings. Not a beautiful view but it was good to have no buildings of the same height nearby. The room was fairly standard. Not big but similar to many other hotels with a king size bed, desk and armchair. There was a safe, iron and ironing board and a mini bar that contained only a few soft drinks. There was a kettle but no coffee maker which seems to be standard in China hotels. The bathroom was fairly small with a walk-in shower and lots of toiletries with some of them stored in a nice leather box on the vanity counter. I found the hotel very quiet. The wifi was pretty dire as is common in China. Many websites are blocked or perhaps self block and others are slow to open. The wifi worked okay with a few websites, slow with others and not at all with many and it was hard to know what was a problem with the wifi and what with China's internet in general. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the downtown pedestrian street (Wangfujing Street) and the huge, new Oriental Mall. it is also really close to a metro station making for easy connections all over the city. I tried to get some information from the concierge but they had some difficulty in providing clear directions and the hotel map is close to useless. That said, they were very helpful in getting me a taxi back to the station even in the face of taxi drivers' reluctance to accept a ride of that short distance. Overall, the Inner Mongolia hotel is recommended for its location and the standard of the rooms which I found very clean and very quiet and I would stay there again if back in Beijing.

The check in process was painless and the lovely Ayla upgraded us to a bigger room! We were also able to collect the pocket wifi and train tickets we’d had delivered to the hotel in advance from the friendly guys at concierge. Our room was spacious (40sqm) and had large wall to wall windows to enjoy the view. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the chairs near the window. The hotel is a little tired but for the price and convenient location it was worth it. My husband tried the breakfast buffet and said it was good. There are 2 subway stations nearby with access to different lines which were handy. Even in the cold, we chose to walk to and from Wangfujing as it wasn’t too far.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel Dec 7 and I found it to be a wonderful hotel with a great breakfast and at a good price. It is too bad the park across the street. The staff and concierge are helpful and attentive. The breakfast has a most varied assortment to choose from, and the rooms are spacious and clean. There is a small music show in the lobby each evening and that is a nice perk.
