A large hotel with a lot of space to walk around beside the hotel. You can walk along the river, or use the facilities, which include a gym and pool. IT IS QUIET, a nice place to rest and get away from work and stress. The rooms are modernly furnished. Comfortable beds. They have 4 or 5 English TV channels most Chinese hotels have 1 or 2 only. There is an Irish pub in the hotel called Toucan bar. Worth a look. Local attraction nearby including a very old temple, the old city wall and some statues of local heroes. Buffet breakfast was good.

“Tidy room but crowded breakfast ”

Rooms are well setup, roomy and clean as expected , it is also location right next to the river with nice river view at night time , also good and convenient for jogging during morning . The part a bit annoy me is the breakfast areas are quite crowded during morning time and little to no food refill at after 830am .

“Down by the Riverside”

The Holiday Inn was a welcome sight after a busy day visiting Jingzhou city and then travelling by bus to Wuhan. After check-in we made our way to the room to find ourselves looking out over great views of the Yangtze River. The room itself was spotless, spacious and well set out with a very comfortable bed and with all the usual amenities. And there was a newness about it that lent it an air of luxury. Very nice. The big plus for us though was the park right next door, running south along the river. Lots of green spaces interspersed with landscaped areas and fantastical Chinese sculptures. It was at night and the gardens were all strategically lit up. And we also came across a group of locals who were dancing swing style for exercise maybe but for fun certainly. Good hotel good location, great river views and a great park.

“Poor room…good breakfast”

Generally hotel should be refurbished, rooms are old even if very clean. Breakfast is quite good with a good offer both chinese and european dishes Staff is very careful both at the reception and in the breakfast salon. Being beside the river few noises arrive by the street.

This hotel is located in the old building, looking terrifying from the outside. It needs to be renovated asap. Facilities and grounds of the hotel look a bit old-fashioned e.g.: in-room safe, hairdryer, onsite gym, bathroom equipment. Rooms a really small in comparison with other Holiday Inn hotels I’ve stayed at. Bathtub was surprisingly shallow (like for a baby), sink and a mirror were also located half a meter lower than they were supposed to be. It irritated me a little bit when I needed to wash my hands or brush my teeth (I needed to bend over more than I usually did). Outlets and deflectors of the air conditioning system are maintained and cleaned from time to time, but not here. I’ve been given a standard room upon check-in, but I requested to change it because of rotten smell in the bathroom (I didn’t even want to know why it smelled so bad.). Front desk staff reacted quickly and within few minutes a bellboy brought me the key-card from another room, which were on the Executive floor by the way. But, I did’t find any differences between those two rooms, except the smell. The one on the Executive floor was apparently cleaner, though had the same problem with ventilation system. In the morning I ordered in-room breakfast, which costed twice less than a buffet downstairs, and served by a kind and friendly woman. Overall, it’s a good place for having a rest between flights, but if you want experience something more, you’d rather consider another hotel.
