We are staying at the Hotel Cavtat with Saga Holidays and have been pleasantly surprised with our service so far. Croatia has been through difficult times in recent years and deserves some praise for its resilience. Staff at the hotel are exemplary providing a seamless atmosphere reminiscent of an earlier period, something rare in this corporate world and far removed from the all inclusive excesses which prevail in much of the hospitality industry. The only fault that we have witnessed is the unbelievable attitude of a minority of our fellow British towards some of the staff. So we'll done to all the staff for making our stay very comfortable.

“Great Hotel in a perfect location , Cavtat”

We stayed in room 310 at this hotel. This room had a restricted view (Pine Tree) but we felt it had a fairly private balcony. The hotel is spilt into two buildings 310 is nearest to the small cove. The room was clean and serviced daily to a good standard. There is a kettle for making hot drinks but remember to bring or buy your favorite tea or beverage as this is not supplied. Cups are provided. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and most spoke English. We were B&B and the breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold and fruits. Our only criticism, it could benefit from a couple mote coffee machines and toasters in a different location in the dining area. On the whole we felt this hotel was clean comfortable and very close to the small main town for supermarkets, restaurants, and banks. Cavtat is a small town about 15Km from Dubrovnik which is easy to reach on the bus or ferry boat. We will return.

“The prettiest view ever !”

After an initial problem with our room we loved this hotel and location. We had been given a very small room with sea view so we insisted we were moved to a larger room as we had paid extra for a superior room. After an initial problem with our room we loved this hotel and location. We had been given a very small room with sea view so we insisted we were moved to a larger room as we had paid extra for a superior room. We had to wait two days, living out of suitcases, for this to happen. Our larger room was lovely, everything spotlessly clean, comfy beds & some toiletries provided. We loved the breakfasts apart from the long queues at the coffee machines...they really needed at least 3 machines ! Little issues were; having to pay for sun loungers in our own hotel and the fact that kettles were in each room but no tea or coffee or milk were provided. It was our daughter's 21st birthday during our stay so she had special treatment at the beautiful `Tiha` restaurant overlooking the sea. She was then surprised with a bottle of bubbly - ready on ice in her room. Lovely staff who were very helpful. Although the location is beautiful it is not totally peaceful as there are lots of planes directly over head (every 10 minutes some days) as it is on the flight path to Dubrovnik airport.

Hotel Cavtat is in a great location. It's in a beautiful bay harbour, with flat-ish walks in either direction. There's the west bay & harbour too, just a short wander through the town, shops, restaurants and cafes, or walk right round the peninsula in 20/30 minutes-ish, to get there too That's a very pleasant walk. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The outside lounge area is very pleasant by a quiet road, there's a couple of indoor sofas in the lower foyer. The hotel is on a hillside, so getting around inside through corridors and different lifts can be confusing at first. Our little end room was comfortable; ensuite, kettle, TV, all fine, but a little small with limited storage or space to move. The view, east, was towards the houses on the hill next door, with an oblique view over trees & a restaurant of another nice harbour. We didn't spent very long in it, because it felt a bit cramped, and the view was limited. When we come back we will book a larger room with a forward facing balcony, The self service food in the dining room was of a good standard, with really good choices occasionally. The puddings/deserts were limited, and could offer a wider range. Breakfasts were really great! They need to double the number of coffee/tea machines to reduce the queues, and get another toaster too. The staff were forever being distracted from their tasks to fix the coffee machines. The tiny little roof-top infinity pool is wonderful, with cool water and clear views of the beautiful bay and hills around. The bar & staff are super and the sunbeds are comfortable. However there are not very many beds available, about 20 - 30 at most. Our visit happened to coincide with a strange €5 per day sunbed booking experiment! (I really hope they ditched that stupid idea! I think they lost mony & good will with that madness!) There seemed to be a lot of older people there (confirmed by the presence of a Saga rep), mostly older couples/groups, and I didn't see any children. That's about right for this hotel. Reportedly lovely spa treatments but we didn't visit them. We booked for dinner with B&B. Lunches did not seem to be offered in the dining room. Right in front of the Hotel is it's own restaurant by the sea which was open to the passing public too. We were offered no concessions to use it, and prices were much like the others in the area. Some other places were cheaper for similar service. Overall, we really liked this hotel and Cavtat as a lovely place to be and relax. No noisy clubs or rowdy bars, lots to see and do, and this hotel is in the midst of it.
