We got to this hotel accidentally on our way from Italy to Spain (didn't plan but since we were tired we search for Marriott in area). That was great surprise! The vibe at this hotel is nice and everything is new. Great bar and great breakfast. I must tell courtyard in Europe is much nicer than in US! We liked hotel so much so we stopped for 2 nights on the way back to Italy to spend more time in the area. Hotel manager Iliece was very nice to us and recognized when we were back - he made sure we get all benefits as Marriott titanium members. That was very pleasant! Again, in US we don't get such treatment even at 5 stars hotel like Ritz or something similar. We would be probably back sometimes soon as we were told there is oysters nearby :) Only con that I left my Apple Macbook charger block in the room and they wasn't able to find it. But I would not deduct one star for this - just to let ypu know that lost and found probably do not work well. Everything else is spectacular!

“Great base fir staying in Montpellier - close to tram, refresh in pool ”

Clean, Great service. Nice breakfast and restaurant / bar are solid. Pool is really nice with drinks and ice cream available. Proximity to tram makes it ideal for seeing the rest of the city or even a trip to the beach.

We stayed at CourtYard Montpellier for three nights. Rooms are relatively large (especially for Europe) with very comfortable beds and a comfortable bathroom. Our room had a terrace overlooking the adjoining square. The whole hotel was very clean, and the service was excellent. We also had breakfast in the restaurant, it is quite rich. The hotel has a great not very big pool, we visited it too. Very peaceful and surrounded by greenery, with a small bar attached. Relatively far from the historical center (tram has stop in front of the hotel), but in close proximity to the City Hall. 400 meters across the river there is a lake around which there are probably over 10 restaurants with great food. There is also a large, convenient parking lot shared with the municipality. I highly recommend the hotel...

At the time of stay I am a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member. I stayed a total of 5 nights. The first 3 nights were in a Superior Twin room and the remaining 2 nights in a Junior Suite (Twin). You can watch the full review on YouTube at Luxury Vegan Travel on or after 22 September 2023. Check in was okay. I used the mobile app to check in so the hotel had an idea that we would be arriving at 11pm. I had also got in touch with the hotel in advance to let them know I was vegan – more on that later! First 3 nights: The rooms were comfortable and had a balcony. The balcony is not private – you could hop over to your neighbour. This is good if you are friends or family with your neighbour but not so good if you are strangers and you want privacy on your balcony. The shower was on the wall adjacent to the taps, which means it would be facing outwards towards the bathroom floor. There was a shield to stop the water from going out but you do need to be careful. There were some toiletries such as body lotion but no dental kit or anything else. I didn’t ask if these can be requested or not. Be careful when entering the shower, for some reason, housekeeping kept leaving the tap for the shower on the hottest setting! We had to adjust this each time before stepping into the shower. The room also uses European plugs. I didn’t see any USB charging ports and I didn’t carry an adaptor as I thought all hotels today would have at least USB! Front desk luckily had a Europe to UK adaptor (the last one) which I borrowed and returned on check out. Note, if you do not return this, they may charge you! There was a fridge which was empty! You are given 2 bottles of drinking water on arrival. However, this is not replenished thereafter. I was told that you can pick some up at reception, however, they had kindly put some in our room the next day. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly but Iliece was the most helpful! He helped us on many occasions and never once seemed to be rushed or bothered! We only had general queries like how to get somewhere or book an event but still – he as great! The Junior Suite was nice as it was more spacious and the bathroom had a separate shower cubicle and a separate bathtub. However, the door to the shower cubicle wouldn’t close and when I reported this to the front desk, nothing was done so I ended up showering in the bathtub – just like the previous room. However, the water would take several minutes to warm up in this bathtub so not the greatest. There is no balcony but you can open the windows a little. There is also a full fridge stocked with 2 bottles of mineral water, Perrier water, Heineken, iced tea and more. These are provided on arrival and not replenished thereafter whether you are staying 1 night or 10 nights. There is a small 24 hour gym on site, a small swimming pool (about 10 metres) open from 9am – 9pm and a SPA which is an outside service – not part of the hotel. My most disappointing feature was my breakfast! France is famed for croissants and so I had contacted the hotel in advance and asked them if they can speak to the chefs and have some vegan pastries prepared so I can enjoy these for breakfast. I received a reply back saying, breakfast is a buffet and there are vegan options available”. This had to be the worst reply I have had from any hotel in the world when pro-actively contacting them in advance and being a Titanium member! I tried once more and was given the same reply. The breakfast did have avocado though! So I had something to eat! There was also Almond milk for those who are vegan, lactose intolerant or just prefer to have no dairy. The breakfast staff were mostly friendly and helpful. However, you cannot talk to the chefs! They will tell you to talk to the staff who will liaise with the chefs. Hmmm? Breakfast was between 6am and 10am Mon-Fri and 6am – 10:30am on weekends. On my last day, I arrived for breakfast at 06:40~ hoping to eat and leave early tocatch a flight. Most of the food items were out and ready but the avocado was not! I asked the staff and they said it should be out in a few minutes. I sat down and waited. After 15 minutes, I saw the chef and asked him. He said, speak to the staff. I advised him I had already spoke to them at which point a member of staff came over and asked the chef to put out some avocado. It was a further 15-20 minutes later the avocado arrived (07:15am). Not the best service Mr Chef! Overall I thought the stay was okay but the hotel definitely has room for improvement. I had booked this as I had read so many reviews online where the guests had amazing experiences. On the day before I was leaving, a guest was trying to check in early as his flight had arrived early and he was at the hotel around 10am. The hotel made him wait in reception until around 2pm/2.30pm before giving him a room. Poor guy! Marriott also has an autograph collection in Montpellier. It is more expensive but if I was to return to Montpellier I would most definitely be giving that hotel a go! I would rate this hotel as a 3 star at most. I hope this is helpful.
