The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin

“Location, breakfast and quiet”

The location was perfect next to the shopping centre and the gate. There are many souvenir shops and shopping eating choices next to it. They had a hard pillow which satisfied my sleeping experience. The breakfast had low fat milk and cheese and egg station and the room was quiet.

“A beautiful hotel in this wonderful city”

We loved our stay here. Extremely friendly atmosphere and comfort enhance the beautiful building. To sit in the lovely huge foyer admiring the elegant staircase is a treat. We are sorry to have to leave after such a very pleasant stay. Very highly recommended.

I stayed for 5 nights in January. This is a giant, grand hotel in central Berlin. My superior room was a good size, with comfy bed, and windows looking out onto one of the main, wide streets in Berlin, a view which I appreciated. I also liked the room's decor, including the nice parquet floors - I found it to be a good balance between familiar Westin styling with a European touch. The hotel is also well located to get around to all the tourist sites, many within walking distance as well as there being a U-Bahn station next to the hotel. I had breakfast included in my rate, and it was a good quality and good sized breakfast buffet, with friendly and accommodating staff. I also thought that the rate I paid (direct from the Westin site) was good value for a 5 star hotel. I also really appreciated the service from the staff - when I arrived and checked in, and made my way to my room, I noticed it had a bit of an unfortunate smell in the room. I mentioned it in passing to the man who was bringing me my room service later that evening. Not ten minutes later, a manager from the hotel’s service team came by and was there checking it out and confirming it was coming from the plumbing in the room. Another ten minutes and I was offered to relocate down the hall into a new room. I was very impressed with the way this was dealt with, without any fuss and making it right straight away.

We (3 adult women) had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the Westin Grand Berlin at the end of November to experience the Christmas Markets. We selected this hotel due to its beauty, location to historic sites and walkability to the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market. I booked a booked a Superior Panoramic Room with a view of the Brandenburg Gate. We arrived to the hotel via an Uber from the Berlin airport. It was a fairly fast drive, maybe 30 minutes. The hotel staff was extremely welcoming as was the whole vibe when you walk into the hotel lobby, which was decorated for the Christmas season. It is a gorgeous entry! Our room, #474, had large windows and looked out over the Unter den Linden and down the street was the Brandenburg Gate. (The gate itself was under some restoration while we were there, but the beauty of the street still remained.) Room conveniences included a modern bathroom with the usual supplied toiletries, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a king bed and a roll-in twin bed. The twin bed was one of most comfortable bed that I slept in during my entire stay in Europe! The room itself had plenty of space for 3 adults and our suitcases. The hotel is in walking distance to lots of great restaurants, some favorites being: the Gaffel Haus or the Augustiner Berlin. We also walked to the Gendarmenmarkt and took an uber (5 mins) to the Alexanderplatz Market and the Weihnachtszeit Market. All 3 markets were so much fun to visit and really kicked off the Christmas season. Lastly, we booked the "Explore Berlin: Top Attractions Walking Tour" via Viator. It was a fantastic 3-hour walking tour and was a great way to get an overview of historic Berlin. If you're looking for a top-notch hotel in Berlin, look no further then the Westin Grand Berlin! It does not disappoint!
