“Family friendly in a remote location”

We stayed here to visit the Ludwigsberg Pumpkin Festival (about 25 minutes from Stuttgart). The location is a bit out of the way but has lovely views and more space than many other options, including an excellent playground. The restaurant had great food and didn't mind serving 4 adults and 5 children under 10 in one group. The staff is...not particularly interested in being helpful. The can opener in our kitchen suite was broken and they refused to even attempt to find one in another room or the hotel kitchen. We also booked a connecting suite and they didn't come open the second room until about 9pm...when they simply came into the room where our children were sleeping and looked around bewildered in the dark before providing the second key. Housekeeping was great, check in and check out were simple. I would recommend this hotel as long as you don't expect too much extra from the folks working there.

“Alright for one night!”

BF and I stayed here en route to the Mercedes Benz museum, and it was a very short but sweet stay. We arrived late and were accommodated for dinner quickly which was nice. We had authentic schnitzel which was lovely but there was quite a large language barrier. The food was very nice but took 20 minutes to get our bill so we could leave. (We'd driven from Switzerland, so were tired and just wanted to get to bed!) The apartment was very nice. Very dated, but has everything you could want. A nice little kitchen area with a stove top, fridge, kettle, etc. Our bed was quite uncomfortable and a few extra pillows would have been nice. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. The grounds are very nice with plenty of woodlands and a nice playground and we liked saying hello to the goats! I imagine children would be very happy here. Great car parking. Check out was a breeze, but we booked through booking and our payment hadn't gone through till we checked out. Not really sure whose fault this is but just keep that in mind as we honestly did believe we had already paid for it. The receptionist explained that they don't take payment from the website until the guest checks out. Good thing the BF had a credit card! Overall a good stay but should we ever return to Stuttgart, we'd stay somewhere else.

“Okay for a couple nights ”

Staff wasn’t particularly friendly at check in, they were too busy serving customers at dinner. Our room was up a tiny staircase above the restaurant on the 3rd floor which is not what we thought we were getting from the pictures. It was HOT in the room without any AC. The room was a good size but the pillows were as flat as could be and the only blanket was a heavy duvet cover. It’s definitely a rustic German hotel. By far the best part of the hotel was the plentiful breakfast and playground for the kids. Overall, it was just okay, wouldn’t stay again.

We booked a family room for our daughter and us. The room was located in the separate hotel building and somewhat run down, but it was clean & big enough for the three of us and had a balcony. The shower cubicle in the bath room was usable though its sliding doors were not fit properly. In one of the cupboards we found a small tray with two empty juice bottles and a half emptied water bottle. Well, overall the room was OK - it could have been worse. On the positive side was the playground, the foosball and table tennis - and the goats. Mixed experiences also regarding the service. The empty bottles were replaced quickly, we accepted the corresponding apologies. Besides the bottle issue housekeeping was fine. And our daughter got food for the goats even there was currently no ready packed food available. But the staff during breakfast was unfortunately unable to cope with their job.
