“Good place to stay”

We stayed here for a few days before joining our cruise. The rooms are big and so is the bed. Had a small balcony, but it did mot matter. The breakfast was ok. We stayed here for a few days before joining our cruise. The rooms are big and so is the bed. Had a small balcony, but it did mot matter. The breakfast was ok. There are plenty of breads and condiments. Cheeses and cold meats. I would have liked food to be a bit hotter. It's the perfect location for the acropolis of athens and a few others. The staff are so nice and helpful. Would go back again to stay if I was every doing another cruise from Athens.

Fabulous location meters from Plaka and the Acropolis. Safe at all times to walk. Shops, restaurants, pharmacies, convenient stores and souvenir shops nearby. Great accessibility for cars and buses. One block from a main avenue. Rooms were comfortable, simple, and clean. Spacious bathroom, marble counter and floor. Shower with a curtain that leaked water on the floor (bad). Bonus I have not found in other hotels: ventilation fan to remove steam and odors. Nice towels, good quality, soft and smoochy. Excellent internet connection Three floors only (some rooms have balconies). All rooms have a phone to call reception. Personnel assisted us in our needs. Excellent customer service. The personnel were kind and polite. Complete and varied continental breakfast. Lots of options: cereals, juices, hot and cold, natural juices, cheese, all types of bread, pastries, teas, an espresso machine with a variety of coffees (no restrictions to use it). Had dinner in the hotel a few days, there was abundant food, three courses although not very varied (repeated some dishes).

Please take into account that anyone’s rating is entirely subjective and it is relative to the individual’s standard of expectations. Having said this, I will state that this property deserves a 5 for LOCATION only. I am a frequent world traveler and typically stay in 4-5 star properties, which is why I booked this hotel. Here is summary: Very old and tired property; rooms and bathroom small and overall hotel seems more like a hostel; staff was excellent and very friendly; breakfast mediocre, but free so I can’t complain; located on a very narrow street therefore difficult to access in or out with luggage; the location was the BEST. You can walk to all the major points of interest within Athens (Acropolis, Agora, Plaka, Monastiraki, etc.). Property prices accordingly to the facility. Stay here if you are on a tight budget, but want the BEST location. I was not in a tight budget however I was traveling with my wife and 17 year old son and I booked the trip last minute and could not find a room with two queen beds or three twins. Hotel Parthenon was the only thing I could find that had the required sleeping accommodations PLUS location during my travel dates. I based the decision from the reviews. Please be aware that this is place is nowhere near a 4 star property as indicated in the reviews. Again, very nice staff and excellent location. That is it.
