We loved the location- 7 minutes walk to Rijksmuseum/ Van Gogh Museum, and the lovely Museumplein (park area) and only 2 minutes walk to two of the main tram routes. Very friendly staff who were always helpful. The room was small but clean, the bathroom modernized, and it had everything we needed. One possible improvement would be to add more drawers-- there was a small desk (1 shallow drawer) and a narrow (30 cm/ 1 ft wide) armoire with a couple of shelves at the bottom. One shelf in the armoire was taken up by the safe. We were aware when we booked that there was no AC, but there was a fan in the room which helped. We had a choice between opening the windows and hearing the street noise, or being hot. The street was a more-or-less busy street (so the noise was mostly trams and buses, with late night revellers only on the weekend). Laundry is available through the front desk- they send it out for washing and you get it back a day or so later- €10 or €15, depending on weight of the load. We never tried their breakfasts, but found some nice breakfast foods at the Albert Heijn supermarket around the corner.

This hotel is situated very close to the Rijks, Van Gogh and Moco museums, as well as to Concertgebouw. This hotel is situated very close to the Rijks, Van Gogh and Moco museums, as well as to Concertgebouw. There are many trams and buses you can get from just 100m away, some good brasseries, pizzerias, bakeries and even a small supermarket if your budget is tight. So the location is great. The staff are really lovely and helpful, and the rooms are very clean. Comfortable beds, good shower, great pillows! Breakfast is good, with enough choice. There’s a small garden area at the back where you can eat if you’d rather, but early breakfast was always quiet. The room we had was on the top floor, with a view of gardens at the back, so quiet for Amsterdam. Sound insulation could be improved, but we didn’t get disturbed except once or twice, very briefly, by some late arrivals. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Family trip to Amsterdam ”

The hotel is somewhat worn and there is more to be desired from the cleaning. However, the location and the breakfast buffet is great and the staff is friendly. The ”family room” with four beds works out perfectly for a family with two kids.
