This is a modern hotel a bit like a travel lodge on the outskirts of the city. There isn't much in the area around the hotel but as a base to get into the city by public transport it was fine. The room was clean without any frills. The breakfast was a good and reasonably priced buffet. The staff spoke good English and were helpful.

On the top floors they are a bit smaller and lower quality. The parking is on a reasonable price in their garage but also available free outside parking. The breakfast is a standard offer without any specialities.

“Friendly, helpful staff, a little way out of town for tourists”

It is some way out of the city, but in the tram route, so if you are visiting as a tourist you may want to be further in towards tourist areas as there is very little else around. This hotel was a surprise as it was booked for business. It is some way out of the city, but in the tram route, so if you are visiting as a tourist you may want to be further in towards tourist areas as there is very little else around. There is a large supermarket about 250m from the hotel but no restaurants or cafes. Breakfast was plentiful, yet simple (continental style: boiled egg, scrambled egg, sausage as hot food; yoghurt, muesli, cold meats and cheeses). Good coffee was readily available made from fresh beans. We ate in the hotel two nights and had good quality food at a reasonable cost. One of the group being vegetarian there was pasta available. We drank a local wine and were really pleased with the quality and cost. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful: booking taxis and confirming where we wanted to go. If we wanted something they dealt with it promptly. At the end of our trip we needed to spend some time in the bar area before going to the airport, staff facilitated this and we were amicably waved off. A nice touch. The hotel has conference room facilities and is located in a residential district opposite a stadium so there were a number of large groups (including tours) and meetings which were managed alongside single visitors.

Stayed two nights in this hotel, as part of a 42 strong group visiting Budapest. We had dinner there on the day we arrived, and the food, the drink and overall service was good The room was clean and tidy, though on the small side. Bathroom was a bit of a 'squeeze', and although the sink did not retain water, due to a 'problematic' plug, we managed OK, after stuffing paper around the plug. Impressed with entry access to room, through a 'contactless' scanning system. Safe provided in room was modern and easy to operate.The lift was also very efficient Although the bar area is not large, it is well furnished and comfortable, and the bar staff are friendly and efficient.Also found that despite being immediately adjacent to a major road the noise was not a problem, once inside the building. On the downside:- !) I asked on the the first day and also on the second to be provided with an extra pillow. In each instance I was told that there was a 'spare' in the room. When I advised that this was not the case I was assured that one would be provided. Unfortunately such promises did not result in action and each night I had to stack up my single pillow with a spare duvet. 2) There is an cycle lane, a dangerously short distance from the hotel entrance, which can,at times, be very busy. While there are 'warning notices' in English, time and time again, due perhaps to guests being distracted, or not able to read English, visitors, particularly form Asia, had numerous 'close escapes' with oncoming cyclists 3) The hotel is located in a busy, built up, suburban area. Consequently there is only a small supermarket nearby. Unsurprisingly there are no 'upmarket shops or alternative eating places in the immediate vicinity. However as the location is neither a 'tourist area,' or a central city area, I would not anticipate such amenities. The biggest snag with the location is that it is isolated from the main 'hub' of the city and the surrounding 'sight seeing' places. To reach these our coach journey involved a very slow passage through heavy city centre traffic traffic, to reach, and depart, from our destinations, in regard to the two 'trips' we had selected. 4) Breakfast could be a challenge, when there was a large influx of guests. Indeed finding a seat can be problematic Also there was sometimes a wait for certain items of food to be replenished, and the coffee machine is the slowest I have ever encountered in any hotel. However the food on offer is good and a wide range is provided. My overall opinion is that the ACHAT is a decent enough hotel but the location is not ideal for tourists, and neither is the location of the cycle lane !
