Fantastic service provided by Fikrat During our recent stay at the InterContinental Hotel in Budapest, I had the pleasure of experiencing impeccable service, notably from the waiter Fikrat. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, Fikrat's professionalism and dedication were immediately apparent. His extensive knowledge of the menus and his willingness to assist with any request made our stay truly exceptional. Fikrats's commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction was unparalleled. Moreover, Fikrat's warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to our experience, making us feel welcome and valued throughout our stay. “Excellent location”

We were completely satisfied with the hotel as the location is excellent, very clean hotel, helpful friendly staff and great view of Castle Hill if you're on the river side. We were completely satisfied with the hotel as the location is excellent, very clean hotel, helpful friendly staff and great view of Castle Hill if you're on the river side. The only thing we found weird was that we had 2 single beds instead of a queen. There was definitely enough room for a queen bed. On top of that, each bed only had a duvet, no sheet. Had never experienced this setup before, is this common in Europe?

I enjoyed my experience here except for one incident which I will finish off with. To start with, the location is excellent, a walking distance from most of the tourist attractions e.g. chain bridge, parliament, castle district etc. It is very easy to get your way around from the hotel. There is also a tram stop just outside the hotel. If you enjoy shopping, it is walking distance as well from some good shopping spots. The lobby is very inviting. The rooms could use some upgrades as they are old however I did not feel like this compromised their quality. Enjoyed using other hotel amenities as well such as gym, steam and the indoor pool. The breakfast spread is amazing with a lot of variety. I had a bad experience with service at the Corsa restaurant as i had dinner there one of the evenings. The service for me was really poor. I was ignored for 15 minutes plus before being served despite the waiter acknowledging my presence as I entered. He said he will serve me shortly but continued ignoring me despite making eye contact. I raised a complaint with one of the management team walking around and he did not seem bothered. The waiter in question was Tamas. This particular experience ruined what was going to be a perfect stay at the hotel

“Top location and guest service, fading room and weak cleanliness”

The location is prime, right across Buda castle and at the Chains bridge, unbeatable. The views from the river views room have no equal in Budapest. The check in was professional and friendly, they recognised my status and changed me to a Jr suite, #511 The staff is very service minded and helpful all across the venue, from the club lounge to the reception, any request, they ll help to fulfill it. Good to know, the club lounge serves food from the Lebanese restaurant as part of its mormal club amenities, delicious ! The main con, is that the rooms haven't been remade in 20 years at least the 5th floor entirely, they are exactly the same as in my 1st visit in 2013 or 6 years ago for my last stay, so the style is late 1980s early 90s, and the cleaning not thoroughly made neither: spider webs on the ceiling above my head, elastic for hairs on the floor in the living room section, ageeing and worn bathtub. If only the rooms would be at the level of the lounge on 1st floor and the cleaning service as professionnal as the receptionist, it would deserve 5/5. On the positive side, Rooms are sound proofed, there is a good gym on 1st floor and a 12m long pool in the spa area. Location is outstanding, but at 210 euro a night, i hoped a remade room, covid closure came and they did not remodeled them then.... But what a view anyway !
