The airport to transfer bus was a bit confusing and if you had mobility challenges might be a problem. The hotel rooms we were booked into were very basic so being 13 seniors we upgraded to superior rooms that had shower over a bath tea and coffee that the basic rooms didn't they're was also a hotel tax to pay. Ok with that done room was good beds comfy view from the window heating was on the pillows weren't up to much not Premier Inn standard. Hotel food was ok plenty of it help yourself. Short walk up the road was a cafe bar and a bar with five or six options to eat from inside with seating around 3 sides of the area. Portions were good everything was expensive but well served. Got to see the northern lights we were lucky as no guarantee. We did Golden Circle tour booked with Viator geysers waterfalls and secret lagoon bathing all was excellent and fun. The hotel did breakfast from half 3 am so the early start for trips and return journey was good. Nearly forgot the hotel lounge was big enough for gathering together for winding down and having a few drinks. We got lucky with the weather 3 days of sunshine wrapped up as the cold wind was blowing. The 3rd evening it snowed but we were leaving the next morning. All in all we would recommend this hotel.

“Nice hotel”

I stayed in 2 of the rooms here and found both pretty good as they had plugs by the bed and a bed side table, two wall night lights that were good for reading a book. The breakfast was good but it could have been better. Overall the hotel was pretty good and would definitely go again.

Recently stayed at Cabin Hotel. Definitely a budget hotel. No frills. Had a very small internal room with no windows but it did the job. Very clean & I found the bed & pillows comfy. Recently stayed at Cabin Hotel. Definitely a budget hotel. No frills. Had a very small internal room with no windows but it did the job. Very clean & I found the bed & pillows comfy. Not much space for drying things but we made it work. Continental breakfast was as expected. Cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs & lots of fresh bread. Granola, yogurt & porridge also available. Plenty to fill up on before our packed trips. The hotel does get busy with school trips. Thus didn't bother me but some members of the group would avoid the hotel in the future because of this. 30 minute walk into town. Might opt for a hotel with a more central location if I came again but for a budget option I'd come back. Had a packed busy 4 days so barely spent anytime in the hotel.

As this was our first trip to Iceland, we had many activities booked. So just needed a place to sleep and eat. We booked a standard room, for five nights, having looked at previous Tripadvisor reviews and photos we thought we knew what we were expecting (small but acceptable rooms) The room itself was tiny, hardly any floor space to move. Due to our itinerary we two large suitcases which we were unable to fold out one of these in the available floor space. The hotel room was functional but certainly not comfortable, cheap beds and very thin walls. (We could hear our neighbours snoring, loud enough to be in the same room) After one night, we asked in reception to pay for an upgrade- which I would 100% recommend if you’re able. Our second room was like checking into a completely different hotel. This definitely improved our stay. Staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel offers to fill personal water bottles, which is really useful when heading out for the day. Breakfast is served continental style, plenty available to set you up for the day Hotel is located about a 30 minute walk from the centre. (Pictures of upgraded room)
