The hotel is located very conveniently, as you can reach it on foot without any issue. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around. The Staff was 5-star! Super helpful, kind, one of the best reception experiences we have ever had :) The room was spacious, equipped with tea and coffe facilities. Every element of our stay was a big plus, incl. breakfast that offered a big variety of products.

“Great location, friendly staff, but loud!”

The Al Sole is a great little hotel in a perfect location. Really close to the bus station (Piazzale Roma), so no need to lug heavy baggage around Venice when travelling to the hotel or back home. The Al Sole is a great little hotel in a perfect location. Really close to the bus station (Piazzale Roma), so no need to lug heavy baggage around Venice when travelling to the hotel or back home. It's a bit further out of the 'centre' if you class the centre as St Mark's Sq, which was ideal for us as we wanted to be away from the busy atmosphere at night. However, it is really easy to walk to all six different neighbourhoods in Venice from the hotel . St. Mark's is around 20 mins once you get your bearings! The staff at the hotel were lovely, very helpful and knowledgeable about the city. We used the bar area on our first evening, which was also fab, with great drinks and snacks. The breakfast selection is great with both hot and cold options and runs until 10:30 am, so for those like us that like a bit of a lie in, it's perfect! The room itself was quite basic, but it did have everything we needed, including a hairdryer, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. I will say the rooms themselves are loud. The ceilings are super high, so we thought that meant we wouldn't hear much from above, but we were wrong. It was incredibly loud, and we could hear absolutely everything happening above us. We also had a canal view room, which was beautiful to look out of on a morning, but also meant we could hear everything going on, on the street below, which on the first night included a party boat driving passed with music blaring and a girl falling in the canal at 3am...not the hotels fault of course, but as the boat was loitering directly outside for a good while, it would have been good if a hotel representative could have asked them to move on as people were sleeping. There was no way of controlling the air con in the room (may be the time of year) but as we couldn't have the window open due to the noise, it did mean that the room was stuffy at night. We couldn't find a fan either. There was also a loud fan/generator/banging sound within the hotel each morning just before 8 a.m., which worked as our alarm! All in all, if it wasn't so noisy, this would have been a perfect hotel. Great location, lovely staff, and clean.

The hotel is beautiful in a fantastic location. We got the 10 euro ATVO bus from the airport. It is then only a short walk to the hotel. The hotel is beautiful in a fantastic location. We got the 10 euro ATVO bus from the airport. It is then only a short walk to the hotel. There is a Youtube video "Walking to Hotel Al Sole" which you might find helpful. The hotel bar was not open but there is a local bar "AL 133" next door which we enjoyed. We can also recommend the Dolfin Restaurant 50 yards east of the hotel. We thought the breakfast was average considering the amount of money we paid.
