Sitting regally in an elegant but quiet street, Relais Giulia is a short stroll to Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Arno and Castel St. Angelo. Vatican City is a close walk. The next street over, Banco Vecchio, offers unique shops, gelato and great bars for aperitifs. All this proximity is not the only reason to book a room in Relais Giulia. Our air-conditioned room was commodious and comfortable. The bath was updated with great water pressure. There's plenty of closet space and comfortable mattresses. What makes Relais Giulia special is the people who work there. Staff is friendly, offers unbiased advice and anticipate guests' needs. Special kudos to Jonathan, who's sunny disposition and upbeat mood endeared him to us. The breakfast is also scrumptious. We especially enjoyed the savory pastry with fava bean filling.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely small hotel close to the Centro Storico. It is within walking distance to all the major attractions, although we took a taxi to the Galleria Borghese which is a bit further away. We had a very comfortable room with roof top views. The bed was large and very comfy and gave us six good nights sleep after busy days out in Rome. The only fault may be that the bathroom is a little cramped - this is understandable given it is an old building - but the shower and all amenities were very modern and satisfactory. Breakfast, with a plentiful and large spread including scrambled eggs, was so excellent that we took it at the hotel every morning. Best of all are the staff who were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will certainly return here if or when we are back in Rome.

“Very Good...but You Need to Understand a Few Things”

First, I need to say, that I only stayed at this sweet hotel for 12 hours...it was a late arrival, one night, and an early departure. That being said, I cannot speak to some of the aspects of Relais Giulia Hotel, like the breakfast or the staff. However, in my short stay, a few issues stood out that I thought were worth writing a review about. Pros: 1) Very responsive staff with regard to email communication. 2) The late check-in process was clearly explained and everything worked seamlessly. 3) The hotel room was immaculate. 4) The hotel room was fairly spacious, especially by Rome standards. 5) The hotel is situated on a beautiful QUIET street in the center of Rome with easy walkability to The Vatican and many other sights. 6) Great price compared to other hotels in Rome's city center. Cons: 1) There is no one at the reception desk from 4pm -8am. This isn't necessarily a con, just be aware and understand if you need assistance, you're on your own at these hours. 2) Your room key is a "virtual key" accessed through your cellular phone. This isn't necessarily a con, but if you are not technically inclined, you may not want to risk it! I am comfortable with my cell phone, but I had to log into the hotel's internet before I could access my room. On the pro side...everything is clearly explained in an email prior to your arrival and they even have a YouTube video on how to use the virtual key, but if you don't have a data plan with 4G or 5G, you will need to get onto the hotel wifi first. Overall, this is a sweet hotel on one of the loveliest streets in Rome. If you do not require extra frills or personal attention, it could be a great option for you. I would be curious as to how the hotel breakfast is presented, but the staff, in my limited experience, seemed very responsive and helpful via email.

The hotel is not a typical hotel but at the same time its not lacking in all the basic amenties. The reception staff is only there from 8 am to 3 pm and they are helpful . Outside these hours you are expected to let yourself into the hotel through a number code to the main door they provide at check in.At first until you get your bearing you will feel you are in a secluded part of the city but then as you learn to navigate yourself you will find that you are very close ( around 2 km from the Vatican and Catel Sant Angelo which is also stop no 6 for most Hop on Hop off buse providers). You can also walk to other sightseeing places like Piazza Navona etc though it takes around 30 minutes. The main road and the by lanes have a lot of good restaurants and a closeby Carrefour express too . App Taxi can be booked through the reception to go to the railway station and parts of the city which are more far away. We occupied the room 102 which was on the ground floor . The bedroom was spacious with all the amenties one would need including tea bags/ kettle, and even iron on request. What didn't work for us was the bathroon especially the shower cabinet. For one the bathroom is very small and the shower cubicle even smaller. The shower cubicle was leaking and the sliding bathroom door didn't shut properly. This was the only drawback we faced otherwise itwas a good stay.
