Booked this hotel very last minute and was able to check in very easily. The hotel itself needs a lot of work to it as my room was decorated in the 70s and left. Very old tv as well in the room. Location is handy for the tube, about a 10 min walk. For the price you pay for the hotel I think there are much better options in London.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 days during the school trip with my 30 students, we expected the worst , but i was pleased al in all. The location is perfect kensington garden is five minutes walk away, the rroms are not bad , small but not terrible, clean, facilities ok and the staff at the reception very nice and helpful.Breakfast not so great , continental but really not rich and varied. It's ok for 2 , 3 days.
Best thing about it is location. Really good comunication with the rest of London. Rooms are really small and they dont have internet. Breakfast is always the same(eggs, butter, bread), staff is good. It is clean.
This hotel is very run down, very old and must have been last probably in the 1970s. The interior is just run-down, dark brown furniture, the rooms are ridiculously small with no room to neither store away your luggage nor your clothes. The bathroom is super small, super narrow, but clean. There were disgusting stains on the bed blankets and the wall next to the bed. The breakfast is a skimpy selection of toasted toast, milk, some cereal, fruits, eggs, jelly, coffee, tea and that's it. At least there is a breakfast included in the room prize. Again, the hotel is really VERY old and needs renovation badly. Also, the attitude of staff was very bad. The woman at the front desk had us waiting for about 10 minutes while continuing her apparently private conversation at the phone instead of checking us in and then she had to search for our reservations for several minutes. She seemed to be untrained and a bit slow in the uptake. - really annoying. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is its location which is very convenient to Notting Hill and several subway stations. I cannot recommend this joint and will never return. I recommend spending more money for a decent hotel. This hotel is listed as three-star, and on some websites as 2.5 star hotel, but that is TOTALLY ridiculous. It is definitely a NO star, it felt more like a youth hostel of 20 or 30 years ago.
We arrived after a long day traveling. We were given a room. Off we went to deposit our bags, card in, door opened, room full of someone else's belongings 🙄back off to reception, where the lady almost didn't believe there were people in the room already! We were the offered a room with four single beds, given that we booked a double room four months earlier they had no reason for a room to not be ready for our arrival, so we refused the offer! What then followed was a heated discussion between the lady and gentleman on reception, while we wearily looked on. Following this we we quite rudely told we would have a small room in the basement! This time the room was empty! The room smelt damp, the walls were damp, the shower was mouldy, the room dirty and covered in dust! This room was also extremely noisy, next to the dining room and underneath the main reception area! We complained the next morning, que eye rolling and huffing from reception. We were told they didn't have another room at that moment, and we should ask when we returned in the evening. We were swapped to another room on our return. Our first room had not been cleaned at all during the day, whilst we were out. At first they again tried to give us a room with multiple single beds, and then given a family room. The second room was fine, clean (ish) and perfectly acceptable. Had we been given this room in the first place the review here may have been different. However, given the state of the first room, along with the attitude towards us when there was an issue, I am inclined to leave a review reflecting our poor experience,we would not return to this hotel. They were poorly organised, and rude.
