We were accidental tourists at the Le Royal in that our reservations at another place fell through. We were late booked here and we are glad that happened. Great room, super location, and excellent staff. Especially Juliya at the front desk. Juliya - you are so gracious and you treated us like royalty. We struggled with a booking.com reservation that got messed up. You got us through it with calm and grace. You made are stay extra special. Le Royal is lucky to have you. And we were lucky to stumble upon the hospitality of Le Royal. Thank you

“A really nice stay marred by the housekeeping staff”

My company put me up at Le Royal for 2 days in March 2024 when I was in Lux for business. Let's start with the positives, it's in such a good location and so central you can walk into the old town and the shopping areas. The front desk staff were generally very friendly and helpful, I liked the fruit basket (don't assume that everyone would get this - my company put me up in a superior room) and I even had my own coffee machine in my room which was great. The hotel however felt very dated - the whole decor had this very late 1980s vibe. The swimming pool was small and the water was too cold, but otherwise the sauna was pleasant enough. I actually slept very well in the rooms and there was no noise disturbance from the street outside nor from elsewhere in the hotel, but I had an incident at just about 8:30 am when the housekeeping maid entered my room - she rang the doorbell and within like 2 seconds, opened the door and barged in to find me waking up in the bed. I did challenge the staff at the front desk about it - I said that if I had intended to sleep till like 9 am or 10 am, I would've put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, but my alarm had actually been set for 8:45 am which I considered relatively early. I asked them what time they started cleaning the rooms in the morning - the lady at the front desk admitted that the process started as early as 7 am and they would assume that if someone was in town for business (as I was), they would be up by 8-ish in the morning. Still, I told her that it was most unpleasant to be awoken by a stranger in my room when I wasn't dressed and I got a grovelling apology for that by the lady at the front desk, followed by a letter from the manager later in my room. I would have given this hotel an even worse rating but actually, apart from that one incident with the housekeeping maid, everything else was perfectly fine. I expect to return to Le Royal as I will travel back to Lux for business but the next time I'll definitely hang the 'do not disturb' sign on my door even if I am waking up early.

“Luxurious”

Lovely hotel, first-class service, ideal position right in the center of Luxembourg, one step away from everything. Rooms and other amenities great and luxurious, while radiating a bit of eigthies athmosphere, as the hotel was probably decorated in that era.
