Loverly hotel. Food choices are excellent. Staff couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. Rooms are clean and tidy and cleaned every day. If you find fault with this hotel, you are being overly picky.

Really struggling to understand the negative reviews about this hotel, had a lovely time! 2nd time in Marrakesh but different hotel and what stands out are the staff(who are so friendly) and how clean and immaculate the hotel is…the decor and styling is impressive. Yes the pools are a bit cold, but you’ll appreciate it when the hot sun is beaming down on you! Plenty of delicious food choice, and witnessed the chefs helping guests with dietary needs. Rose wine nice, cocktails were strong and we enjoyed the mojitos! After the 2nd day the waiters saved a table for us with our wine ready, and we didn’t tip until the end of our holiday. No problem getting sunbeds & cabanas were available still mid morning. It’s a quiet hotel, entertainment was good but lowkey and over by 11…we really just wanted a rest so didn’t bother us but if late nights partying and entertainment/animation teams are your thing choose a different hotel. It’s not a 4/5* that you get in the uk as you’re in Morocco! For a week of sun all inclusive for under £100 a night this was a bargain… there are Facebook groups for this hotel with lots of info and many guests return again and again. Says it all! Thank you Tikida Gardens, I’m bronzed, fatter and rested…just what I needed :)

The most professionally & friendly run hotel out of the many we have enjoyed over the past 40 years and we hope to be returning for our 40th Wedding Anniversary in the autumn. We can't express enough the delight Judith got from having the best restaurant service anywhere in respect of her enforced Gluten Free diet. The chefs went out of their way to ensure she ate safely and with confidence. Ample storage and other facilities in our pool view room - though the towels are need upgrading - very thin. The "Zanzeebar" was so much more than a bar with sitting areas and a great asset - furnishings and rest of the ambiance encouraged us to chill out in style in the evenings- not sure if we will ever find a more inviting and pleasant lounge bar. A shame the "quiet" pool was not heated - we had to give that a miss. Every part of the hotel, gardens and grounds that we saw were immaculately maintained. The loungers round the "quiet" pool however were well past their best and really need replacing - while we will not ask for our room to be made up as a double in the autumn as the linen and quilts were simply revamped single bedding (what a shame as this was the only issue in our room).

Just spent a week at RIU Tikida Gardens Hotel/Resort. Hotel is nice, very clean, beautifully kept gardens and all the amenities you would expect from an all inclusive hotel. We got to experience 2 different rooms during our week's stay due to some noisy selfish guests above us that sounded like they were racing ponies around their room at 4am!! This went on for 2 nights in a row, our first complaint to the hotel management didn't result in anything being done unfortunately but after the second nights disruption and a "firmer" second complaint we were moved. Our second room was actually nicer than the first and next to the quieter pool, the lingering cheesy bar music now just a faint murmer compared to the first room where it sounded louder in our corridor than in the bar itself!! So, on to the food... this is a Tui Blue hotel so obviously catering to the masses is necessary, that being said they did put on theme nights and offered something different each night alongside the staples of salads soups, pastas, pizza etc. Quite a few veggie options although a little samey night after night. Found myself eating a lot of soup and salad, which were nice. We also tried the on site speciality restaurant "Culinarium" which is traditional Moroccan. Food was OK but the same tagine and couscous offerings as we'd been having in the main buffet restaurant all week, but it was nice to have your food brought to you rather than queueing up for a change. The local Moroccan red wine was very nice and very drinkable. Can't really say the same for the cocktails, knowing this to be a Muslim country, wasn't expecting top quality negronis and champs on tap but disappointed that the drinks weren't very alcoholic and very sweet. If you want something with a bit more clout, ask for an Optimus, it's not on the menu but their signature drink apparently, weird not to advertise it, although these definitely packed more of an alcoholic punch, maybe that's why they don't advertise it!! In the restaurants for all meals we found the wait staff a bit hit and miss, sometimes you'd walk in to breakfast and be shown to a table and given coffee immediately, other times you'd be left wandering around trying to find a set table and have to go in search of someone to order a coffee! Pools were clean and well kept but cold, we didn't brave them until the last couple of days of our holiday when temperatures were in the low 30s. We only went on one Tui excursion, the full day city tour of Marrakesh which worked out at £50 per person and included lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant inside the Medina. I would call this less of a tour and more of a sponsored walk!! It started off OK with a mosque and palace visit by coach but once we entered the Medina and souks it was every man for themselves trying to keep up with our speedy guide Micky. We walked about 16K steps that day, so if walking is not your thing or you have people in your group that can't manage walking far, don't book this trip! Not that we were planning on buying much in the souks but the group were given no time or options to buy things other than the "approved" shops the guide took us to. Lunch was good and gave a nice opportunity to chat to others on the tour. One shocker that none of us expected whilst in the many narrow souk lanes was the overwhelming amount of motorbikes/mopeds/small trucks that screeched backwards and forwards past you, if the heat from the exhaust pipes don't get you the taste of acrid 2 stroke oil fumes will!! Very unpleasant and not something I've ever seen on any TV holiday programs!! Take note that immigration both in and out of Morocco is horrendous!! Takes at least an hour arriving and departing! The incessant checking and rechecking of passports/boarding cards is also grinding and bordering on paranoia!!
