Visited New York and booked this hotel, it was in an excellent location, good sized rooms. Clean and tidy. Excellent reception and concierge service. Also breakfast service, very helpful William and Mohammed
I have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel as a group of 8 ladies !!! I must admit I was really concerned after reading the many negative reviews. It was completely unfounded and the hotel is absolutely fine , honestly !!! We checked in very easily although Paulo did say they had a very lone line of people not long before we arrived and so I guess we were lucky . Our party of 4 had paid to upgrade to the executive floor 18, the other party of 4 were in a standard room on floor 20. Floor 18 has its own lift which at busy times is useful although our friends didn't have any problems either. Our corridor having been recently refurbished was lovely as was our room. The rooms are typical New York size so not big but we had 4 ladies sharing and was adequate . Two small gripes , the lighting is woeful other than in the bathroom so tricky doing make up and hair. The storage is limited too with lots of wasted space , our room had an interconnecting door so this may be why. The room was clean enough , not perfect , carpet was stained and marking around the bath but thus is more due to the high usage rather than cleanliness I feel ? Towels and sheets were lovely and clean and towels replaced daily so perfect. Beds and pillows are really really comfy so just what you need after busy days. Yes you hear some city noise but you're in New York so what do you expect ? As part of our deal we had a grab and go breakfast from the lobby. This is a coffee , juice or water , a pastry ( lots of choice ) and a piece of fruit. You are welcome uk take it back to your room and the two guys behind the counter Mohammed and John were fantastic . The lobby area is always busy and it would really benefit from a bar area but there are plenty of bars immediately outside the hotel so it's not really an issue. The location is perfect for tourists as it's 2 mins from Times Square and 5 from Central Park. If you have booked this hotel please don't worry it has all you will need. We literally slept there and were out most of the time and as I've said slept really well as beds so comfy !!! Just to add although I never saw it our friends were really happy with their room too. Corridors a little dated and scruffy but room fine and clean. I think the higher floors are better so may be worth bearing that in mind .
This is the absolute worst hotel I've EVER stayed in. I am okay with dated, but this hotel is completely disgusting and filthy. Unless you pay $$$ for a renovated room above the 18th floor, DO NOT STAY HERE! The carpet was ripped, stained and duct taped together in our room and in the hallway, the window and shower curtains were both falling down, and there were stains/rips in the wallpaper all over our walls. It was so gross, I did NOT walk on the floors barefoot because I did not feel comfortable at all. The pictures on the website are COMPLETELY misleading!!! After seeing our room, I went to the front desk to try to upgrade our room, but they said they were booked and couldn't move us. They said there was a possibility of moving us the next day but would be $80-$100/night more! The phone in our room did not work, so if I needed anything, I had to wait on the very slow elevator to ride down 10 floors to ask the person at the front desk. I asked two days in a row for extra pillows (our room had no extras) and were told they did not have any. Being pregnant, this was highly disappointing! Also, despite many different attempts to change it, our room AC temperature never went below 72 degrees. It was hotter than that outside on the days we were there and I was burning up in the room! Overall, I was so incredibly disappointed to be completely mislead from what is shown online. I felt dirty just being in this hotel (other than the lobby which has been renovated) and would have moved hotels after checking in if we had not prepaid.
