My wife and I were given a night’s stay as a gift from my daughter for our birthdays. Everything went smoothly. The location was terrific ; centrally located to the shows that we were going to see and restaurant row! The staff was terrific. Natalie at the front desk was so helpful and kind and took care of everything for us. She really treated us as if we were her old friends! We couldn’t feel more comfortable! Also Peter Gallo, director of the front office was helpful and accommodating. We loved our stay at the Paramount and hope to return soon!
Disappointed that the room was so basic, could be better! Never stayed in a room with only one bedside table next to a double bed, no where to put toiletries in the bathroom...had to use the seat in the shower, very small desk in the room with no where to put stuff either (placed under the tv with no mirror above it?) and the plugs no where near the mirror to dry your hair! Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facility too. Shower was next to useless too, no power in it. Wouldn’t stay here again if I went back to New York but the location was perfect and we only used it as a base to shower and sleep!
I stayed in many hotels in US and in NYC but this was the poorest experience I ever had. First, I booked 2 rooms and when we arrived around 1:30 pm, they said rooms will be ready after 4:00 pm and I asked them to arrange them at the same the floor for a reason but when we returned at around 5:30 pm one the receptionist said very briefly that the only available rooms are at the 3rd and 8th floor and she never listened. Second, the rooms were extremely small and claustrophobic, even worse than Tokyo hotels. I have never seen such a room anywhere in the US. Moreover, both rooms were noisy maybe because of the A/C, we couldn't find the reason. It was difficult to sleep. Third, rooms and especially the bathrooms in both rooms were not clean, we saw an insect at the upper-level room. We couldn't feel okay to take a shower. The bathroom door locked in the lower-level room and luckily nobody was in there. Fourth, elevators are not good for the elderly people as reading the floor numbers requires reading glasses, because they are all in dark colors. Fifth, the lobby area dimmed, almost not possible to read a book etc and is always busy. Probably there are people who are not staying in the hotel but taking a rest or visiting the restroom. I saw people sleeping and lying like in the bed, which is not nice for a hotel lobby. The positive: it is the only location. Just a few minutes walk to the Times Square. This is the only reason that I give 2 otherwise it would be 1. The summary: considering the money I spent for one square feet of the room and the service I got, I will definitely go for another hotel in my next trip to NYC.
We arrived at 11am, and couldn't get into our room until 4pm, though there is somewhere you can leave luggage. The lobby is lovely, though very dark, and impressive. The rooms however, are not! Firstly we were given room number 425, which was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. The shower room was the pokiest room ever, with the toilet on an angle in the room because that was the only way it could fit in ! - and the toilet seat wouldnt stay up, because the flushing unit at the back stood out too much. We were then moved to a much better, and larger disabled room, number 630. The bathroom / wet room is quite badly designed though, and you can easily flood the rooms if the shower head is at the wrong angle! The closet / wardrobe is unbelievably small, with the wardrobe being about 2ft by 3 ft! although there is a small area at the side about 2 inches wide that is suitable for SHORT dresses ! (I have put a photo on the site to show this) We were staying for a week, and when we enquired, we were told that all the rooms had the same closet / wardrobe! We had to ask for a hairdryer as this was missing from the room - this took two attempts! Dont forget about resort taxes, which amounted to 32.66 dollars per night. Breakfast here is 28 dollars per person.....we went elsewhere. It is expensive to eat here, and they add a service charge for all orders. There are plenty of restaurants around that are much better value. I would not stay here again, or recommend it. It is ok for maybe a night or two, but not a week.
I have booked the Hotel using Priceline and on top of the Priceline charge the Hotel tried to take an additional 32USD as mandatory fees on GYM, Phone and Wifi. When I pay using an external website I do not expect to get extra mandatory fees in the Hotel. This is a trick (Fraud) to be selected as a low price, while the actual price is 32 USD higher. On top of that they tried also to chargge 15USD on an Amazon package I sent to my room. Be careful
