Cleaning
Stayed 3 nights, very very clean Helpful staff Free shuttle to the metro Excellent breakfast Very affordable Definitely recommend Within minutes of downtown Rome but far enough away for quite restful nights
We only stayed for two nights but the room was spacious and clean. Yes the wardrobe had chains for a door and you had to crouch to have a shower but the facilities were great. Staff were polite, especially Franco behind the bar and the breakfast was superb with loads of choice! The shuttle to the local Metro was really convenient and the Metro system itself was easy to navigate and cheap @ €7 per day! We managed to see almost everything in one long day. Took the 246 bus next day to the Metro as got up later and wanted to see Vatican City etc. Getting on the right side of the road to catch the 246 was a bit of a challenge and we ended up going the wrong way (you need to be on the side of the road where the campsite is) All in all we were both very happy with the accommodation and location. Thanks all!!
We booked two twins and turned up to two double rooms - thankfully the beds were easy enough to reset ourselves. The hotel is situated not far from the Vatican district, as such the road links to the hotel are very good, and a bus service operates just down the road if you prefer not to drive in Rome. The rooms whilst clean are rather small, and also fairly dated. The TV in the room has only local channels with no option to get international ones (even BBC World?). The pool is lovely and clean, but is freezing cold, it is not heated, except by the sun. Breakfast is great if you like continental, for us Brits it is rather limited. Evening meals at the hotel are limited to a very very small menu, and / or a buffet, depending on the night. Thankfully there is a restaurant and several takeaways within walking distance of the hotel. There is free car parking at the hotel, this is on a first come basis, but we had no issues during our stay finding a space. The WiFi however was not as reliable, sometimes you could get a signal in reception, sometimes not, but dont bother attempting to try in your room. All in all not a bad hotel, I have stayed in far worse, but not the greatest either. To be fair though you get what you pay for, and this is one of the cheaper hotels in the area.
There's no need it advertising free wifi if it doesn't reach your room. The room itself was small and plain with chains intsead of doors for the wardrobe which didn't have enough hangers and no drawers so my clothes remained in my suitcase. The bathroom was small and I had to literally crouch to 5ft to take a shower due to how the roof slanted. The price of drinks was surprising; €5 for a bottle of Peroni which works out at £5 since the decrease in the exchange rate. The breakfast canteen had good food but there wasn't enough choice really. Having said this, the review is almost soley based on the building itself: the staff were talkative and helpful and spoke English well.
Not a 4* hotel at all. Cons: - rooms are small - fridge doesn't work - wardrobe is basically a small hole in the wall with chains as a door with 3 coat hangers - no English tv - A/C had to be turned off at night as way too noisy - bathroom door lock jammed leaving my partner trapped in there over 30mins whilst I was downstairs having breakfast - the only hot food for breakfast is scrambled egg and cheap bacon - no balcony - swimming pool is green! Desperate for a clean! I was happy to have found a hotel with a pool but majorly disappointed I couldn't use it, I'm not getting in that - there was only 4 wooden sun loungers (that I could see) with no cushions, and the trees hid the sun anyway so I never bothered to even go down to sunbathe - the bar is shut during the day! So we had to walk the shop to get drinks - evening buffet is 15e with very little choice. We never stayed to eat in because of this - the elevator was broke. Not ideal when you're on the top floor - 6e per person per night in tourist tax to stay here! Pros: - staff are lovely! - quiet area - free shuttle bus to metro (book in advance) - the safe is free to use - fresh towels/linen daily I don't care if coming in September means that the season is nearly over. That's not an excuse. This is poor for a "4*"
