“A perfect hotel in a wonderful part of the city”

What a perfect hotel in the historic El Born section of the city, close to the Gothic Quarter and la Rambla. What a perfect hotel in the historic El Born section of the city, close to the Gothic Quarter and la Rambla. We could walk in under a half hour (mostly way less) to most places we wanted to go, including La Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral, the Music Palau, and so many great restaurants and museums (e.g., the Picasso Museum - don't miss it). The hotel itself is lovely - on a winding, narrow historic street with several good restaurants and pastry shops. The building is historic, but everything inside clean and modern, tasteful and new.— the lobby with seating areas and a concierge desk peopled by lovely staff who were welcoming and knowledgeable— whose recommendations were carefully assembled by people who know and care (also about excellent food - one restaurant already on our list was also on theirs.). Our room was attractive, with everything needed for a comfortable stay: excellent bed with quality linens, nice bathroom - all super clean and kept that way. If your standards are high but you don't seek out five-star opulence (when you'll be out most of the day and evening in any case) - check it out. We give Musik Boutique Hotel our highest recommendation.

First the downside: it was a little hard for one taxi driver to find. End of downside. Narrow streets are interesting and picturesque from my point of view; I love these streets. They were not noisy at night-- no boisterous bars or dance halls around, or anything like that. Plumbing and electricity were perfect. Rooms were kept spotlessly clean. Elevators were small, but fine for our family of 5, and the elevators worked. That is not true everywhere one travels! Location is excellent. Barri Gotic attractions are within walking distance. Barcelona Cathedral, Las Ramblas, other spots of interest. Taxis will come to the door (except for the guy that got lost.) and are not outrageously expensive. The desk: Friendly. Helpful. Solicitous. Will call taxis. Apologize if the taxi isn't exactly punctual. Speaks English very well. Seemed to speak German quite well (I'm guessing). Professional but not stuffy. Comfortable. Restaurants are nearby and plentiful. Pharmacy and bakery also nearby, as is a nice public market. Lots to do and see within walking distance. We were entirely satisfied with our stay here.

stated this hotel about 10 years ago on a girls trip. This time with my husband. I made an error in booking and chose a single room. Didn’t realize it until we arrived. All they could do was put us in the room I had booked. This is a really really tiny room. No desk, no chair, barely closet and no place to put your luggage other than on the floor. Even if it had been one person, it’s still really small. they have an exceptional breakfast buffet. there are so many things to choose from. My only negative is that the man that keeps the food supplied on the buffet came up quietly behind me early early one morning and when he spoke, it started me quite a bit. When I turn,and said oh my gosh, you scared me, his reaction was just simply shrug.
