We stayed for two nights in January. The room was beautifully decorated and very original in style. It's located in a perfect situation for visiting the main attractions of Madrid. We were able to walk to all the various sites from our front door. Ignacio was extremely helpful in advising us about how to get around. He even made online reservations for restuarants, museums and a fabulous flamenco show. If you want a very relaxing stay in a beautiful place then you need look no further.

My Husband and I stayed here in April and absolutely loved it! The design of the hotel is absolutely amazing. The breakfasts were solid - nothing spectacular but more than enough to get the day started. There wasn't always someone at the front desk, but we didn't really need any help with our stay. This was my fourth visit to Madrid and his first and the location was perfect. Many of Madrid's attractions are within walking distance and the Metro is steps away from the hotel. The only reason I am giving Casa de Madrid 4 stars rather than 5 is because I looked to book another visit next month but the prices seem incredibly high. It was about 100 euro a night (give or take a bit) when we booked last time and now it was well over 300 euro a night. It looks as though their business model has changed and that it is now more of a serviced apartment. Either way, it is an incredibly beautiful apartment/hotel in a very convenient and lovely location (the Palace is about a 3 minute walk away).

We stayed here as part of an extended trip through Spain and Casa de Madrid stands out as a highlight from our trip - really the most gorgeous and whimsical and comfortable rooms, fantastic location and the most gracious hosts - Paula and Ignacio who could not have been more welcoming and sincerely interested in making our stay as wonderful as possible. Unfortunately, they are not on-site all the time and the housekeeper who lives at the property will not act like she understands you unless you speak perfect Spanish to her, which was a frustrating experience as I manage to travel around Europe pretty well with a smattering of several languages but this lady was genuinely not interested in communicating. The only reason I haven't given this B&B 5 stars is partly because of the housekeeper who is the only point of contact between 5pm - 9am every day, and partly because the breakfast experience was such poor value that I really felt robbed by having to pay Euro 5 for a bowl of cereal, Euro 5 for a pot of yogurt, Euro 5 for some bacon, Euro 5 for an egg ... it just seemed such bad value that it really grated with me and I would have felt better if the breakfast had been a set fee of Euro 15 and I could have ordered whatever I wanted - it probably would have ended up costing the same as a la carte but it would have felt better value. There were also issues about where to actually eat the breakfast - the room is very small so you are either eating at a low coffee table while sitting on a sofa - much better posture for a glass of wine - or at a small 4-person table, cheek-by-chomping jowl with another couple that you don't know. It was a bit awkward. Would we return? Yes, but we'd either go out for breakfast in the charming square just outside the front door or have room service and be prepared to spend Euro 20 per person on breakfast and not look at the bill when we checked out to avoid thinking about the extortionate mark-up per item.
