As other reviewers have mentioned, the location of this hostel is very good. You also get pretty good value for money for the rooms. The desk is mostly unmanned and when I visited, there was no english spoken at all. Many sights are within walking distance, and there is a great 'buzz' from the street in the evening (windows are thick, so you can shut out the noise when you want to sleep though). I would not mind staying there again, if I came back as a solo traveller.

Located in the central area with walking distance to almost all main attractions. I requested for a quiet room and was given one at the back which I like. Staff are nice and will try their best to accomodate your request. Theres no lift in the bldg so be prepared to carry your heavy luggage all the way up. No english channel on the tv. Wifi will not work at the back rooms. But I will still be back bec I like the location and I like how quiet the place is.

Stayed here for 2 nights when following Leicester City. Great location, about 10 mins walk from SOL station. On a fairly busy street that has bars outside so can be noisy until the early hours, be warned. Rooms are clean and functional, as is the bathroom. Didn't spot an aircon unit so that might be worth checking out, we visited in April and it was beginning to get warm. There is free wifi, which worked very well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, good value for money, clean and tidy and it a great location for easy walking to all major sites of Madrid.

“Ideal place for travel-light traveller”

I am a travel-light traveler and find this hotel is perfect for me. It just take six minutes walk from Plaza Mayo metro exit to the hostal. The hostal is located on the side street and very easy to find it. All the rooms seem away from street and are very quiet. The room looks out of dated but a very comfortable bed. It will be a little difficult for traveler with heavy luggage because hostal is on the third floor with no lift. It is also a very short walk to the airport shuttle bus stop from the hostal.( about 10 minutes walking). The room rate is cheap compared to most hotels of Madrid. It's a ideal place for backpacker or travel-light person to pick this hostal .

Location was one of the best ones I've had when travelling through Europe, walkable to all the attractions and sights. Stay was in a very cute and quaint place, lots of colours I recall which helped bring some life into the rooms. The only downfall to our 2 nights spent here was that the wifi was very poor. I had to sit by the front door or in the bathroom just to get a weak connection, to be able to send message out to family that I was okay. Anyone travelling will know wifi can be important, for mapping out new locations, searching reviews, etc so it was definitely a pain. Other than that, great stay.
