Really wonderful breakfast, everything homemade (even the baked beans), the cheese pie is to die for. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and attentive. Gave crayons and coloring books to the kids which they loved. We also spent some time at the indoors pool when it was raining which was great for the kids (us too).

Without a bellman, a concierge or food available most of the day, not sure how this can be a 5 star hotel. Without a bellman, a concierge or food available most of the day, not sure how this can be a 5 star hotel. We arrived in the pouring down rain and there was no carport but assumed that the bellman would arrive with umbrellas to assist us. There was no one and we got drenched unloading about 9 articles from our car. I self parked and as I entered the hotel, I witnessed 8 people at the front desk, not one of which had any interest in assisting. I asked if the hotel was self-service to which one person said, “ no, we can help with your luggage” and off she went to load up the cart. I then was greeted with the gentleman who checked me in who seemed more bothered by my presence than anything. I asked about food and he told me the restaurant closed in 15 minutes. Room service is not available either after the 15 minutes and the next possibility was 8:00 pm- it was currently 3:15. We opted to go hungry. Next I experienced heat coming out of the air-conditioner. Called the front desk, found out they could adjust the temperature from there and they would call me back. No one called and no change in the situation. I called an hour later and they said maintenance was gone and I could switch rooms or wait until tomorrow or open the window ( no screens). It was midnight so opted to just be hungry and now hot. They did fix the air condition the next day but offered no apologies or compensation for my discomfort. I would like to commend the service staff working the breakfast- they were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. I like the location- short walk to town and easy access via car. Front Desk needs attention and staff needs training on what makes a hotel 5 stars. I like the Discovery brand but would hesitate staying at NH brand again.
