We weren’t expecting a lot from this hotel due to it being advertised as a 1* on Booking.com. We were pleasantly surprised! The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet and had excellent air conditioning. The location of this Hotel is spot on - right in the middle of the old town. Plenty of restaurants/bars around the hotel.

This hotel is listed as 1-star on all the booking sites so I was very surprised with the accommodation when I arrived at the lobby. In my opinion, this is the same as 3-star hotels I stayed in other countries. (perhaps the Spanish have a different rating system?) The hotel receptionist that checked us in was very friendly. After giving us the room key, she asked us to return and she will provide a map and highlight sites to see. Well done!!! The reception is manned 24/7 and the other receptionist was also very helpful. Onto the room; - The room is adequate sized for two people. Beds are memory foam but they do slant to one side so you can roll out bed,,, probably because everyone sits on the edge? - TV has NO English speaking channels, except the occasional news on Russian TV. Spanish, French and Russian channels only. - Fresh towels daily if you remember to put the wet ones in show. The towels are pretty thin, as expected with a budget hotel. - WiFi signal is great. I'm a big fan of UniFi WiFi systems and the hotel has a access point (antenna) on each floor so the signal is great. Suggestions for a more pleasant stay: - The room and drains smell awful! I DON'T think the Spanish have u-bends traps in the plumbing. I carry a bottle a lavender oil with me so it was a life saver! After 2 days of dabbing everywhere with Lavender oil I almost masked the awful smell. ...Hotel should put a reed diffuser in each room! - WiFi is great but the system fails to hand out an IP address. I had to manually set the IP address on my phone to get access to the internet. ...If you are reading this management, login to your router and set the 'Lease Time' to 3 hours (10800 seconds). This will help your router hand out fresh IP address for your guess.

“Basic but great location ”

Stayed for a short break. Arrived late on Saturday evening and the receptionist was more than helpful in detailing our room and recommending a local restaurant. Room was basic, but clean and tidy, shower needed some refurbishment. Good price, and well located for old town, cathedral and river.

This is an old property converted to a hotel. Located close to everything tourists go to. Sleep quality is poor, too much noise from other rooms and the corridor. Late night streets noise can bother. This is an old property converted to a hotel. Located close to everything tourists go to. Sleep quality is poor, too much noise from other rooms and the corridor. Late night streets noise can bother. Housekeeping is OK. Towels were of run down type. Bed, ac was OK.... Toiletries those of budget style accommodation. Stairs are steep and slippery, so be careful. Lift is available which makes it a better option than Airbnb options we looked at. El Corte Ingles, spar, mas supermarkets are closeby with late open hours. Lots of restaurants, cafes too. Stay here for location advantage.
