This hotel gets a rating of 5 Stars but I’m guessing this is because of the spa facilities available to guests Without these facilities I would suggest a star rating of 4 If you are not going to use the spa there are other hotel options in Bath Our room was at the end of a corridor which meant it had a double aspect which made the room feel large The room was quite clean but there were areas for improvement - dust on the shower head and if you moved the magazines the table was dusty - there was a dust outline were the magazines were placed I also object to being charged £12 per day to park this should be free for guests Breakfast was help yourself, for a 5 star hotel I would expect cooked to order there were cooked options but they incurred an additional charge which I felt was not value for money We eat in the hotel one evening and the food was very good The staff are very helpful The hotel is located a 15 minute walk into Bath but you can do this via the road or along the river I’m not sure for the money I would consider staying again or recommend but it is all about personal choice

The hotel is presented as five star, but I find that hard to accept. The good things were excellent room servicing, luxurious surroundings and location. The breakfast was varied and sumptuous, but a surcharge on some cooked breakfasts above an English?? Really?? Breakfast service was good, very efficient, although two non-functioning coffee pots at breakfast was poor. Staff replaced after struggling with them. I booked a spa experience for my wife five weeks in advance and was billed the full £149 at the time of booking even though we were due to be residents. Some aspects of lunch and afternnon food and beverage service left a lot to be desired and some staff were obviously inexperienced. The biggest let down was discovering that my wife had a left a shawl somnewhere in the hotel during our two night stay and an email to the hotel reveived no response at all. In this class of hotel I find that woeful.

Bath is a beautiful place to visit plenty to do with great restaurants. Unfortunately Bath Spa Hotel was not. The room we had was very tired and dirty. Old furniture, damaged and chipped sink bowl. Bath is a beautiful place to visit plenty to do with great restaurants. Unfortunately Bath Spa Hotel was not. The room we had was very tired and dirty. Old furniture, damaged and chipped sink bowl. Not worth nearly £250 per night! Poor service in the bar area, breakfast was terrible, again bad service. I complained twice with no response. overall I would find it hard to rate the hotel 3*

“Not a 5* hotel”

We had a deluxe garden room that overlooked the front entrance and courtyard which meant that the bedroom curtains had to be closed when in the room as everyone could see in, including the rooms and corridor opposite as no nets or shutters across the bottom of the windows. Room was very nice, shame the bed throw was stained. Shower was good but inadequate lighting in both the bathroom and bedroom for putting make-up on, luckily it was a sunny day but oh no, had to shut the curtains so couldn't use the natural daylight. Breakfast was mediocre. Expected table service for a 5* hotel for the hot menu but was told self service. Would have got much better breakfast with more options in a cafe. Self service cold buffet was ok cheese,ham and salami and cereals but hot buffet wasn't great hit few only a few choices. No salt and pepper on tables, no teaspoons to stir the sugar in. Butter was ration portions and if you wanted anything else on the menu - eggs bendict etc you had to pay extra for it! Spa, the lockers used the bedroom key but we only took 1 down with us so I had to leave my clothes on the bench. No hooks to hang anything up. Discarded used towels all over the place and no attendant to tidy up. Good points, quiet location, parking included and only a 15 minute walk into Bath.
