“Value for money ”

Good area. Pleasant staff. The comfiest bed ever!! Rooms cleaned daily but towels not changed daily. Breakfast was sufficient but only has coffee no tea. Also missed a kettle in the room. Would definitely stay again.

Nice staff, close to Hyde Park and kind of close to Harrods and other shopping (just a nice walk through the park). You can even walk to Buckingham Palace, though we took a taxi on our way back. Only thing they could do better might be some more breakfast options - but it was fine and I got what I needed. Great cofee. Close to Paddington trainstation with easy connections to the airport.

Nice clean simple budget hotel with basic breakfast included. Good location. Good beds and very clean modern bathroom. Perfect for a couple of nights. Needs shower gel in bathroom and tea coffee making kettle in bedroom. Tv had netflix which was fab! Rooms bit smaller than needed. Staff were ok, ... more

Staff were ok, could be more friendlier and welcoming but were helpful when asked. Could leave luggage in lounge after checkout but unattended at own risk. Could chill in lounge after check out. Fulfilled all our basic needs.

“Cheap, no frills, good location for Central London.”

Stayed here for a couple of nights, chose it primarily because of its price. It's in a great location, only five minutes' walk from Paddington Underground and rail stations, and within walking distance of Hyde Park and Oxford Street, meaning it's great for getting to most parts of Central London and beyond. Despite this, it was quiet without any disturbance at night; I was there at the weekend but was not disturbed by people out clubbing etc. The hotel itself was basic but comfortable. I was in a single room that was small; but as I was using it as a base for doing other things in London, that was all I needed. The bed was comfy and I slept as well as I normally do in my own home (though another pillow would've been nice!). The bathroom was small, possibly a bit cramped, but certainly usable; the shower was very good. Just one note: no shower gel, shampoo or soap (beyond a pump dispenser of handwash) was provided, so you'll need to bring your own. Also, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but I suppose at the price I paid that's understandable. Breakfast was simple and a little disappointing. The choice was two cereals, sliced ham and cheese, hard boiled eggs, toast with butter and jam, tea or coffee, chilled water and orange squash (*not* juice). I realise the prices were low, but a little more choice would have been good (and no marmalade when we're so near Paddington!!). Also, when it got busy the staff - who were great - were rather stretched and there wasn't enough room for everyone. Would suggest going down early or late to avoid the crowds. Check-in and out were straightforward, although I would've appreciated a little more information from the receptionist about breakfast times etc. This was provided on a sign on the desk, but it wasn't obvious and being told about it would've helped. All in all, if you want somewhere cheap to use as a base when you're in London, and you don't mind some of the sacrifices this entails, the Orchard is probably as good as anywhere. But there are things that you might expect from even a basic hotel that aren't here.
