We really enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel, bought as a special deal including dinner, breakfast and use of the leisure facilities. All the staff are really friendly and helpful but not in your face, our toddler was made very welcome, the food was great and everything at breakfast expertly labelled. The outside view of the Garden Wing can be a little off putting at first, but the rooms inside are lovely. We also found it really quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our evening meal, however the aubergine was not marked as spicy and it was extremely hot. The pool is really nice, clean and warm. We had a walk around the grounds which are very pretty. My favourite part was the lovely views of the trees and flowers from our bedroom. Highly recommended and we're looking forward to returning.

“Family stay - absolutely wonderful”

What an amazing experience. The receptionists were all lovely. Checkin was easy. The deluxe double rooms were stunning with beautiful views of the the picturesque grounds. Gregg was amazing and had arranged 2 Easter eggs as a treat for our girls in their room. Thank you Gregg! The grounds are some of the best I’ve experienced. Not manicured stately lawns, but rather beautiful natural meadows and lawns with bluebells and daffodils aplenty, and mature trees and a beautiful close. We had a lovely family walk and enjoyed seeing the beehives! We had an amazing family swim. The pool was not busy and had a depth of 1.2 throughout making ideal for our twin girls. Had some great family fun. The jacuzzi was not working due to a faulty jet. It was fine though and they were going to get it fixed by the next day. The sauna and steam room were small but lovely. We had a fabulous time using the facilities. The Italian gardens made a beautiful place to sit and have a drink, with swinging cocoon chairs, flowers, trees and tables. Such a beautiful place. The breakfast was fantastic too. So much choice and excellent quality. After dinner we went for a stroll near the hotel lobby and were delighted to see dozens of bunnies frolicking in the lawns that makeup the hotel grounds. Check out was smooth and if my husband could have got another day off, we definitely would have extended our stay. This hotel is simply wonderful for a family stay or a couples stay. Could not fault it. Thank you to everyone, especially reception and Gregg!

“Average service and food”

Attended a weekend break with numerous others all attending a function. I would say the hot breakfast items available is somewhat lacking - No grilled tomatoes. Toaster is preset for ' ideal toast' but you have to put it through twice as otherwise its not toasted! Function menu starters were odd... more

Attended a weekend break with numerous others all attending a function. I would say the hot breakfast items available is somewhat lacking - No grilled tomatoes. Toaster is preset for ' ideal toast' but you have to put it through twice as otherwise its not toasted! Function menu starters were odd in the sense that there was an overload of sticky chicken wings ( far too many for a starter) with the smallest piece of bruschetta for that starter. The whole table never had all their meals served together so one person was always waiting for theirs. There were no bread rolls offered ( at a function?) and no coffee for the first night. On the second night we had to serve ourselves coffee that was outside the function room. The food was not overly hot and average quality. These little things are probably what stops it getting a higher rating.
