Loved it.....decided to stay here as the location looked wonderful, despite being a bit far from some of the main areas/sights. We had a wonderful 6 night stay in April. We arrived quite late due to a flight delay from Heathrow, and upon checking in around 10.30, we were told that there were no longer any of the rooms we had booked available.....we had booked a King room with marina view. I found this quite confusing as I was always under the impression that you were entitled to get the type of room you selected. The receptionist told me this was not the case. Instead they offered us a room with 2 Queen beds, and a view of the Intracoastal waterway. I questioned if there was any alternative option as this wasn't what we had booked, we were staying 6 nights and were Hilton Honours Gold members - we were told to come back the following day. Day 2 and they arranged for us not only to move rooms, but we were upgraded - we ended up on the 11th floor, in the main tower block, in a corner suite which was just beautiful. Tbh I don't think this would have happened if we were not Gold Members but we were very grateful. The hotel was great but very very busy due to cruise passengers. Lots of turnaround and hence a very busy reception. Our room was stunning with a huge wraparound balcony with spectacular views. Day 1 we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was $70 for two, however it was beautiful food with a great selection. We made use of the hotels free shuttle bus which took us over to the beach area on 2 days, it was a great facility to have. Two other days, we jumped on the water taxi right by the hotel and went off to see the sights from the water, went shopping, stopped at some bars and restaurants, then jumped back on later in the day to go home. As breakfast at the hotel is expensive we went off to have breakfast at some local cafes which were much cheaper and within 15 minutes walking distance - Alem Harbour Cafe and Fresh First. So we used our daily credit to have a drink at the bar each evening, taking in the lovely views and watching the boats/yachts sail by from the balcony. The pool gets very busy and so is not a really relaxing environment, but still beautiful, but don't go here if you're looking for a quiet relaxing few days. So overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

This hotel has been part of the skyline for decades, but it has been beautifully remodeled and doesn't show its age. I usually stay at Bahia Mar, a Doubletree Hotel on the Beach, but thought I would give this a try. The decor is light and bright and the view from my room, facing north on an upper floor, was spectacular. It was nice to have a balcony, too. After a very long international flight, I loved the rainfall shower and the very comfy bed. This is a great location if you're cruising out of Port Everglades. It's also somewhat walkable to a number of restaurants It took me awhile to figure out the public spaces. I didn't see any foodservice in the lobby or by the pool. Eventually I figured out to get to one of the restaurants, you had to go outside, then back inside another building, then to the third floor. This could be more easily explained with better signage, although the restaurant/bar was crowded so maybe it was just me! The pool area is beautiful but could use some food and beverage service. It also closes quite early. The Fort Lauderdale, yacht-y vibe is really palpable at this hotel. There is a marina full of large boats out back, and you'll see their inhabitants in the restaurant and bar, which was very lively on a Saturday night. I was very pleased with this Hilton property and am going to make it my regular stop each time I come to my old hometown, Fort Lauderdale.
